Jabal al-Druze
Jabal al-Druze, officially Jabal al-Arab is an elevated volcanic region in southern Syria, in the As-Suwayda Governorate. Most of the inhabitants of this region are Arab Druze, and there are also small Arab Christian communities. Safaitic inscriptions were first found in this area. It was an autonomous state in the French Mandate of Syria from 1921 to 1936, under the same name.
Battle of al-Mazraa
The Battle of al-Mazra'a was one of the major battles of the Great Syrian Revolt, that led to the spread of the rebellion throughout the French Mandate of Syria. It was fought on 2–3 August 1925 between Druze and Bedouin rebels led by Sultan Pasha al-Atrash and a heavily-armed French force of the Army of the Levant near the town of al-Mazraa, around 12 kilometres northwest of the city of al-Suwayda.
