Rhine
The Rhine is a river that flows from the Swiss canton of Grisons in the southeastern Swiss Alps to the North Sea coast in the Netherlands and is the twelfth longest river in Europe, at about 1,233 km, with an average discharge of more than 2,000 m/s . Altishausen
Altishausen is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded in year 1159 as Altinshusin. The municipality had 120 inhabitants in 1850, which increased to 155 in 1950. After a decline to 111 in 1970 it rose to 161 in 1990. In 1996 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Alterswilen, Dotnacht, Ellighausen, Hugelshofen, Lippoldswilen, Neuwilen and Siegershausen to form a new and larger municipality Kemmental.
Dippishausen-Oftershausen
Dippishausen-Oftershausen is a former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. The municipality contained the villages Dippishausen, Oftershausen and Bätershausen. It was named just Oftershausen until 1900, when it changed its name to just Dippishausen. In 1953 the name Dippishausen-Oftershausen was created. The municipality had 140 inhabitants in 1850. It decreased to 118 in 1900 before returning to 140 in 1950, but in 1980 it was down again, to 121.

Dippishausen is located in the former municipality Dippishausen-Oftershausen. In 1984 Dippishausen-Oftershausen municipality was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Siegershausen, which in turn merged with its neighbors in 1996 to form a new and larger municipality Kemmental.
Oftershausen
Oftershausen is a village in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1275 as Oftershusen. Oftershausen is located in the former municipality Dippishausen-Oftershausen. In 1984 Dippishausen-Oftershausen municipality was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Siegershausen, which in turn merged with its neighbors in 1996 to form a new and larger municipality Kemmental.
Buhwil
Buhwil is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It is first mentioned in 838 as Puabinwilare. The municipality had 320 inhabitants in 1850, which decreased to 283 in 1900 and 282 in 1950. It then increased somewhat, to 190 in 1980 and 287 in 1990. In 1996 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Kradolf, Neukirch an der Thur and Schönenberg an der Thur to form a new and larger municipality Kradolf-Schönenberg.
Kradolf
Kradolf is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded in year 883 as Chreinthorf. The municipality had 147 inhabitants in 1850, which decreased to 228 in 1880, 649 in 1900 and 1,064 in 1920. It then dropped to 983 in 1950 before increasing again, to 1,183 in 1990.

Schönenberg an der Thur is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. In 1996 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Buhwil, Kradolf and Neukirch an der Thur to form a new and larger municipality Kradolf-Schönenberg. Schönenberg an der Thur is first mentioned in 883 as Thuruftisthorf. In 1359 it was mentioned as Schönnenberg. The population in 1831 was 190 people and by 1870 it had increased to 254.

Neukirch an der Thur is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. In 1996 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Buhwil, Kradolf and Schönenberg an der Thur to form a new and larger municipality Kradolf-Schönenberg. Neukirch an der Thur is first mentioned in 1291 as Eliswil. In 1296 it was mentioned as Sêliswille, which remained its name until the Protestant Reformation. After 1520 it was known as Nüwenkilchen.
Hauptwil
Hauptwil is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded in year 1413 as Hoptwill. The municipality had 50 inhabitants in 1649, which increased to 598 in 1850, 741 in 1900, 819 in 1950 and 910 in 1990. In 1996 the municipality was merged with the neighboring municipality Gottshaus to form a new and larger municipality Hauptwil-Gottshaus.

Gottshaus is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded somewhere between year 1250 and 1300 as Gottshaus. The municipality also contained the village Sankt Pelagiberg as well as 40 others. It had 781 inhabitants in 1850, which went up and down over the years to 676 in 1900, 798 in 1950, 707 in 1980 and 811 in 1990.

The municipality had 284 inhabitants in 1850, which increased to 295 in 1900 but then decreased to 275 in 1950 and 241 in 1990. In 1998 the municipality was merged with the neighboring municipality Oberhofen bei Kreuzlingen to form a new and larger municipality Lengwil.
