Peccia
Peccia is one of six small Swiss municipalities which merged in April 2004 to form the commune of Lavizzara, with about 1000 people. The other municipalities were Broglio, Brontallo, Fusio, Menzonio, and Prato-Sornico.

Broglio (also spelled Brolio) is a castle about 20 km NE of Siena, Italy, home of the Ricasoli family for 800 years, now famous for its wine.
Mogno
Mogno is a village in Vallemaggia District in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Mogno is situated near the top of Val Lavizzara, a valley through which the upper Maggia river flows. Formerly part of the municipality of Fusio, which merged with adjoining municipalities in 2004 to form the new municipality of Lavizzara. In the 17th Century it possessed 50 taxable fireplaces. By 1801, the population had dropped to just 40 inhabitants.

In 2004 Prato-Sornico municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Broglio, Brontallo, Fusio, Menzonio and Peccia to form a new and larger municipality Lavizzara.

Sornico is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Sornico was a municipality of its own until 1864, when it merged with its neighbor Prato to form the new municipality Prato-Sornico. In turn, Prato-Sornico municipality merged with its neighbors in 2004 to form a new and larger municipality Lavizzara.
Church of San Giovanni Battista, Mogno
The Church of San Giovanni Battista (Italian: Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista; German: Kirche San Giovanni Battista) is located in the alpine village of Mogno in the Swiss canton of Ticino. It was built between 1994 and 1996 on the site of an older church (from 1626), which was levelled by an avalanche in 1986. The church is named after St. John the Baptist. The new church was designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta who used marble and granite from the valleys of the area.
