Mettlen–Lavorgo powerline
The Mettlen–Lavorgo powerline, also called the Lukmanier powerline, is the 400 kV three-phase alternating current high voltage electric power transmission line over the Lukmanier Pass in Switzerland, from Mettlen to Lavorgo. Trees falling on the line in 2003 caused a major blackout in Italy.
Valascia
Valascia is an indoor sporting arena located in Ambrì, Switzerland. The capacity of the arena is 7,000 and was built in 1959. It is the home arena of the HC Ambri-Piotta ice hockey team of the Swiss Hockey League. The ends of arena are open air, making a hockey being played there partially outdoor.
Leventina (district)
The district of Leventina is one of the eight districts of the largely Italian-speaking canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The capital of the district is Faido but the largest town is Airolo at the beginning or at the end of the valley. Situated to the north of the canton, its territory covers the area of the Ticino River as far south as Biasca, in particular the valleys of Val Bedretto and Valle Leventina.
Mogno
Mogno is a village in Vallemaggia District in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Mogno is situated near the top of Val Lavizzara, a valley through which the upper Maggia river flows. Formerly part of the municipality of Fusio, which merged with adjoining municipalities in 2004 to form the new municipality of Lavizzara. In the 17th Century it possessed 50 taxable fireplaces. By 1801, the population had dropped to just 40 inhabitants.
Lake Cadagno
Lake Cadagno is a meromictic lake in the Piora valley, Switzerland. As one of a few meromictic lakes in Europe, it is the object of numerous scientific studies. The Piora valley - located in the Gotthard massif (central Swiss Alps) in the Southern part of Switzerland near Airolo at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level - is a landlocked alpine valley whose scientific value has been recognized for more than two centuries. In the past, the lake was used as a reservoir.
Lago del Sambuco
Lago del Sambuco is a reservoir above Fusio, in the municipality of Lavizzara, Ticino, Switzerland. Its surface area is 1.11 km². The dam of Sambuco on the Maggia River was completed in 1956. Its maximum height is 130 m and length 363 m.
Lago Ritom
Lago Ritom is a small lake in the Piora valley, Ticino, Switzerland. The natural lake is used as a reservoir by the Swiss Federal Railways to generate hydro-electric power for the Gotthard line. The first dam was built in 1918 and, in 1950, its height was increased by 23 m. The lake can be reached by funicular from Piotta 786 m below. The track with a length of 1369 m has a maximum inclination of 87.8%, the highest in Europe. The lake's surface area is 1.49 km² at an elevation of 1850 m.
Lai da Sontga Maria
Lai da Sontga Maria is a lake, located north of the Lukmanier Pass in Switzerland. It lies almost entirely in the municipality of Medel, a tiny fraction of the south-west part of the lake belonging to the municipalities of Quinto and Blenio. The reservoir has a surface area is 1.77 km². The arch dam Santa Maria was completed in 1968. The main road of the Lukmanier Pass runs along the eastern shore of the lake.

Lago di Morghirolo is a lake in Ticino, Switzerland. Its surface area is 9.25 ha. The lake can be reached by foot from Dalpe or Polpiano.
Lago Tremorgio
Lago Tremorgio is a mountain lake above Rodi and Fiesso, in the municipality of Prato Leventina in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Its surface area is 0.39 km². The lake can be reached by aerial cable car from Rodi.

Fusio
Fusio is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. In 2004 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Broglio, Brontallo, Menzonio, Peccia and Prato-Sornico to form a new and larger municipality Lavizzara.
Prato, Vallemaggia
Prato is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. Prato was a municipality of its own until 1864, when it merged with its neighbor Sornico to form the new municipality Prato-Sornico. In turn, Prato-Sornico municipality merged with its neighbors in 2004 to form a new and larger municipality Lavizzara.

Church of San Giovanni Battista, Mogno
The Church of San Giovanni Battista (Italian: Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista; German: Kirche San Giovanni Battista) is located in the alpine village of Mogno in the Swiss canton of Ticino. It was built between 1994 and 1996 on the site of an older church (from 1626), which was levelled by an avalanche in 1986. The church is named after St. John the Baptist. The new church was designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta who used marble and granite from the valleys of the area.
Ambri Airport
Ambri Airport is a Swiss general aviation airport. It located near the village of Ambri, in the municipality of Quinto and the canton of Ticino. Ambri serves the surrounding area and is home to a gliding school, a helicopter base and has sufficiency for VFR flying. The airport is situated in the steep-sided alpine valley of the Ticino river. It is flanked to the north by the A2 motorway and the river, and to the south by the Gotthard railway and the villages of Ambri and Piotta.
Rein da Medel
The Rein da Medel is the longest headwater of the Rhine. It is located in the Swiss cantons of Ticino and Graubünden and flows trough the valleys Val Cadlimo and Val Medel. Rein da Medel is the local Sursilvan, name in Graubünden, which is commonly used to denote the Ticino part as well. The most important places along the river are the villages Curaglia and Platta in the municipality of Medel.
Rein da Curnera
The Rein da Curnera is a right tributary of the Anterior Rhine and one of the main tributaries of the Rhine. It is fed from multiple sources and glaciers at the southern end of the valley. The river is about 8 kilometers long and flows north through the Val Curnera. Approximately in the middle of its route, a dam was constructed by Kraftwerke Vorderrhein AG (the local hydropower company). At this point, the Rein da Curnera takes up a left tributary, the Rein da Maighels.
Rein da Maighels
The Rein da Maighels is one of the main tributaries of the Rhine and is a tributary to the Rein da Curnera. The firm Kraftwerke Vorderrhein AG has built a hydropower dam creating a reservoir, called the Lai da Curnera, into which both rivers now flow. The origin of the Rein da Maighels is the Maghels Glacier (Romansh: Glatscher da Maighels) on the Piz Ravetsch near the point where the cantons of Graubünden, Ticino and Uri meet.
Faido railway station
Faido is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Faido. The station is on the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, on the southern ramp up to the Gotthard Tunnel. The station is served by an hourly InterRegio train between Locarno and Arth-Goldau, which continues alternately either to Basel SBB or to Zürich HB, and by a small number of trains on line S10 of the Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia (TILO), which operate between Airolo and Chiasso.
Ambrì-Piotta railway station
Ambrì-Piotta is an infrequently served railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Quinto. It takes its name from the nearby communities of Ambrì and Piotta. The station is on the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, on the southern ramp up to the Gotthard Tunnel. The station is served by a few trains on line S10 of the Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia (TILO), which operate southbound to Bellinzona, Lugano and Chiasso, and northbound to Airolo.
Piotta, Switzerland
Piotta is a village in the municipality of Quinto in the Swiss canton of Ticino. Piotta is the location of the base station of the Funicolare del Ritom. Along with the neighbouring village of Ambrì, Piotta is served by the infrequently served Ambrì-Piotta railway station on the Gotthard railway.
Ritom funicular
The Ritom funicular (Italian: Funicolare del Ritom) is a funicular railway in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It links a lower terminus at Piotta, in the valley of the Ticino River near the southern portal of the Gotthard Tunnel, with an upper terminus at Piora, a 1 kilometre walk from Ritom Lake.
Carì
Carì (formerly known as Maiensäss) is a village in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of Ticino. The village is situated in the northern part of the canton, in the Leventina valley, above Faido. It belongs to the latter municipality. Carì sits on a sunny terrace at a height of 1,642 metres above sea level, on the southern flanks of Pizzo di Campello. Since 1950, the village has developed into one of the most popular alpine tourist resorts of the canton.
