Cossonay District was a district of the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The seat of the district was the town of Cossonay. It was dissolved on 31 August 2006.

Cossonay–Gare–Ville funicular
The Cossonay–Gare–Ville funicular is a funicular railway connecting the municipality of Cossonay in the Swiss canton of Vaud with the railway line from Lausanne to Vallorbe and Yverdon-les-Bains. The lower station is called Cossonay-Gare, but is in the village of Penthalaz. The upper station, some 130 metres above, is named Cossonay-Ville . The line was opened in 1897, and was initially operated as a water counterbalance funicular.
