Lake Murten
Lake Morat is a lake located in the cantons of Fribourg and Vaud in the west of Switzerland. It is named after the small town of Murten/Morat on its southern shore. Its official name in switzerland is "Lake Morat". It is the smallest of the three lakes in the Seeland or Pays des trois lacs area of the Swiss plateau located at the foot of the first chain of the Jura mountains. The main tributary is the river Broye.
Avenches District
Avenches District is a former district of the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. The seat of the district was the town of Avenches. It was dissolved on 31 August 2006 and all the municipalities joined the new Broye-Vully District. The following municipalities are located in the district: Avenches Bellerive Chabrey Constantine Cudrefin Donatyre Faoug Montmagny Mur Oleyres Vallamand Villars-le-Grand On 1 July 2006, Donatyre became part of the municipality of Avenches.
Aventicum
Aventicum was the largest town and capital of Roman Switzerland (Helvetia or Civitas Helvetiorum). Its remains are beside the modern town of Avenches. The city was probably created ex nihilo in the early 1st century AD, as the capital of the recently conquered territory of the Helvetii, across the road that connected Italy to Britain, built under Claudius.
Coussiberlé
Coussiberlé (German: Cussiberle or Guschubürli) is a village and former municipality in the district of See in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1425 as Corsibellay. The municipality had ca. 30 inhabitants in 1558, which increased to 58 in 1811, 63 in 1850, and 80 in 1900. It then declined, to 58 in 1950 and 51 in 2000. In 1974 the municipality was incorporated into the larger, neighboring municipality Courlevon.
