Walensee
The Walensee is one of the larger lakes in Switzerland, for about 2/3 of its surface in the Canton of St. Gallen and for 1/3 in the Canton of Glarus. It is also known as Lake Walen or Lake Walenstadt, after Walenstadt. Other towns and villages at the lake include: Weesen, Quinten, Quarten, and Murg. The three main rivers leading to this lake are the Seez, Murgbach, and Linth. The latter continues its course from Walensee to Lake Zurich.
Kerenzerberg Tunnel (road)
The Kerenzerberg Tunnel is a motorway tunnel in Switzerland, and forms part of the A3 motorway from Basel to Sargans. The tunnel is approximately 5.8 km long and it lies southwest of Lake Walen, under the Kerenzerberg Pass. The Kerenzerberg Tunnel is a one-way, unidirectional tunnel. Traffic from Zurich to Sargans must pass through the Kerenzerberg Tunnel, in the opposite direction the motorway runs along the shores of the Walensee through six short tunnels originally built for a railway.
Fischingen Abbey
Fischingen Abbey (Kloster Fischingen), now Fischingen Priory, is a Benedictine monastery situated in Fischingen in the Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, on the upper reaches of the Murg, a tributary of the Thur. It was founded in 1138, dissolved in 1848 and re-founded as a priory in 1977.
AFG Arena
The AFG Arena is a multi-use stadium in St. Gallen, Switzerland, completed in 2008. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of FC St. Gallen of the Swiss Challenge League. It replaces the Espenmoos stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people. The name comes from the sponsor, the Arbonia-Forster-Gruppe AFG. When it was completed, FC St. Gallen was just relegated to the Challenge League.

Hulftegg Pass
Hulftegg Pass (el. 954 m. ) is a mountain pass between the cantons of Zürich and St. Gallen in Switzerland. It connects Mühlrüti in the municipality of Mosnang and Steg in the municipality of Fischenthal in the Töss Valley. The pass lies between the Toggenburg in St. Gallen and the valley of the Töss River in Zürich. The pass road has a maximum grade of 10 percent. At the summit is a popular restaurant.
Kerenzerberg Pass
Kerenzerberg Pass (el. 743 m. ) is a mountain pass in the Alps in the canton of Glarus in Switzerland. It connects Mollis and Mühlehorn above the Walensee. The pass road was built in 1848 and has a maximum grade of 10 percent. Two tunnels have been dug under the pass, a road tunnel for the A-3 Autobahn and a rail tunnel for the Ziegelbrücke to Sargans railway line. The area is known for both summer and winter sport.

Oberricken Pass (el. 906 m. ) is a mountain pass in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It connects the lower Ricken Pass with the villages Walde and Rüeterswil, in the municipality St. Gallenkappel.

Eastern Switzerland
Eastern Switzerland is the common name of the region situated to the north of Glarus Alps, with the cantons of Schaffhausen, Thurgau, St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden and Glarus. Paxmal
The Paxmal is a peace monument built by Karl Bickel between 1924 and 1949, in Walenstadtberg above Walenstadt, in Switzerland. The left wall is the earthly life: a couple of people in its existence and development, love and procreation. The right wall is devoted to the spiritual life: the beings who are awakened, struggling, and which keep growing. Karl Bickel was a Swiss artist who worked for the Swiss Post as a stamps graphic designer.
St. John's Abbey in the Thurtal
St. John's Abbey in the Thurtal (German: Kloster St. Johann im Thurtal) was a Benedictine monastery originally established in Alt St. Johann in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, in the mid-12th century. The oldest written record of it is dated October 4, 1152, when Pope Eugene III took the monastery into his protection. The pope confirmed the monastery's possessions and free election of its abbot and Vogt. On October 24, 1178, Pope Alexander III confirmed the abbey's extended possessions.

Ziegelbrücke railway station
Ziegelbrücke railway station is a junction station in the village of Ziegelbrücke, which is shared between the municipalities of Niederurnen in the canton of Glarus, and Schänis in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Opened in 1875, the station is owned and operated by the SBB-CFF-FFS. It is one of the southern termini of the Lake Zurich left bank railway line, a main line that links Zürich Hauptbahnhof with Ziegelbrücke and Näfels.
Kerenzerberg Tunnel (rail)
The Kerenzerberg Tunnel is a rail tunnel in the Swiss canton of Glarus. The tunnel is 3,955 metres long, and carries the Ziegelbrücke to Sargans line under the Kerenzerberg Pass to the south of the Walensee. Prior to 1960, the railway used a route along the shores of the Walensee and through shorter tunnels.
Flumserberg
Flumserberg is a resort area in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of St. Gallen. It is composed of several villages between 1,160 and 1,344 metres. The resort sits on a terrace overlooking the Walensee, above Flums in the Sarganserland region. Flumserberg mainly belongs to the municipality of Flums, with a small part belonging to the municipality of Quarten.
Mount Zion Abbey
Mount Zion Abbey is a Premonstratensian nuns' abbey in the municipality of Gommiswald in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. It is designated as part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites. The Abbey was built on scenic rocky spur above the Gaster valley in 1761 by the priest Joseph Helg. It was built along a pilgrimage route from the churches on Lake Constance to Einsiedeln Abbey. The Loretto Chapel was built in 1763-65.
