Lake Thun
Lake Thun is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It took its name from the city of Thun, on its northern shore. Lake Thun's approximately 2,500 km² large catchment area frequently causes local flooding after heavy rainfalls. This occurs because the river Aar, which drains Lake Thun, has only limited capacity to handle the excess runoff.
Lötschberg Base Tunnel
The Lötschberg Base Tunnel (LBT) is a 34.57-kilometre railway tunnel on the BLS AG's Lötschberg line cutting through the Alps of Switzerland some 400 m below the existing Lötschberg Tunnel. It is currently the world's longest land tunnel and accommodates passenger and freight trains. It runs between Frutigen, Berne, and Raron, Valais . Breakthrough was in April 2005 and construction ended in 2006. The opening ceremony was in June 2007. Full scale operation began in December 2007.
Kandersteg International Scout Centre
Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is an international Scout centre in Kandersteg, Switzerland. The centre provides lodges, chalets and campsites covering 17 hectares of land. It is open to Scouts year round, as well as to non-Scouts for most of the year. More than 11,000 young people from over 40 different countries visit the centre every year. KISC is one of the three World Scout Centres of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

Stadion Lachen
Stadion Lachen is a multi-use stadium in Thun, Switzerland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of FC Thun. The stadium holds 10,350 and was built in 1954. The stadium has places for both seating and standing.
Museum für Uhren und Mechanische Musik
The Museum fur Uhren und Mechanische Musik (MUMM, Museum of Timekeeping and Mechanical Music) is located in the village of Oberhofen am Thunersee, and is a museum dedicated to both horology and mechanical music. The museum is housed in the manor house of the historic Wichterheer estate, lakeside on Lake Thun . It is located in the Bernese Oberland, about halfway between the major tourist centers of Bern and Interlaken.
Blausee
Blausee is a small lake in the Kander valley above Kandergrund at 887 m, near the river Kander. Administratively, it belongs to the Bernese Oberland. The lake has an area of 0.64 ha. Thunersee–Beatenberg railway
The Thunersee–Beatenberg railway (German: Thunersee–Beatenberg Bahn; TBB) is a funicular in the Swiss Canton of Berne. It links Beatenbucht on Lake Thun, served by shipping services on the lake, to the village of Beatenberg, situated on the plateau above at 1120 metres above sea level. The funicular, opened in 1889, has a length of 1695 metres and overcomes a vertical distance of 556 metres with a maximum gradient of 41%.
Thunerseespiele
The Thunerseespiele are open-air musical productions during summer located at Thun, the main city of the famous Bernese Oberland, in Switzerland. Every year internationally-famous productions are staged. The location is at the shoreline of Lake Thun (Thunersee). The stage is temporarily built every year over the water, especially for this production.
Amsoldingersee
Amsoldingersee is small lake adjacent to the town of Amsoldingen, in the Upper Gürbetal. It is located near the city of Thun, Switzerland. The lake has a surface area of 38 hectares and a maximum length of 1.1 km and width of 500 m. The maximum depth is 14 m. It is fed by Rotmoos-Bach from the smaller Uebeschisee.
Oeschinen Lake
Oeschinen Lake is a lake in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, 4 kilometres east of Kandersteg in the Oeschinen valley. At an elevation of 1,578 metres, it has a surface area of 1.1147 square kilometres . Its maximum depth is 56 metres . The lake is fed through a series of mountain creeks and drains underground. The water then re-surfaces as the Oeschibach. Part of it is captured for electricity production and as water supply for Kandersteg.
Simme
The river Simme is a tributary of the river Kander in the Bernese Oberland in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It's approximately 60 km long and has a catchment area of 594 km². The river Simme's spring is on the Rezli alp to the west of the mountain Wildstrubel near the village of Lenk. Underneath the Rezli alp it forms the Simmenfälle, several waterfalls, which have, altogether, a drop of 200 m.
Schadau Castle
Schadau Castle is a castle on the south side of the Aar near Lake Thun in the city of Thun, Canton Bern, Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
Tschingelsee
Tschingelsee is a lake in the valley Kiental of the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. It formed on Tschingelalp in 1972 after severe weather. Since 1987, the area is a nature preserve.
Tropenhaus Frutigen
The Tropenhaus (English: Tropic House) in Frutigen, Switzerland is a commercial project using geothermal energy from hot water flowing out of the Lötschberg rail tunnel for the production of exotic fruit, sturgeon meat and caviar in a tropical greenhouse in the Swiss alps. In 2007, the project received the Prix Evenir, the Swiss petroleum industry's CHF 50,000 award for sustainable development.

Gibelacher is a town close to Merligen in Berner Oberland, Switzerland. Gibelacher is not located just to Thunersee but ca. 200 metres up the mountains. Gibelacher has no railway station but has a regular bus traffic to Sagi, Schwanden, Merligen and Oberhofen. Cities close to Gibelacher includes Spiez, Thun and Interlaken.

Spiez railway station
Spiez is a railway station in the town of Spiez, in the Swiss canton of Bern. It is on the Thunersee line of the BLS AG, which connects Thun and Interlaken, and is the junction for the same company's busy Lötschberg line, as well as the Spiez-Erlenbach-Zweisimmen line. The station is served by various operators, including the BLS, Swiss Federal Railways, Deutsche Bahn and TGV Lyria.
St. Beatus Caves
The St. Beatus Caves (Caves of Saint Beatus, or, in German, St. Beatus-Höhlen) are an extensive cave network located in the Switzerland near the village of Beatenberg, above Lake Thun. Saint Beatus of Lungern took up hermitage near the entrance of the cave system, probably in the ninth century. Legend holds that Beatus fought and defeated a dragon who lived in the caves. Saint Beatus' grave is located between the monastery and the cave entrance.
