The Göta Canal is a Swedish canal constructed in the early 19th century. Norrköping Municipality (Norrköpings kommun) is a municipality in Östergötland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Norrköping, with some 90,000 inhabitants. By the time of the local government reform of 1971 the City of Norrköping was amalgamated with the rural municipality of Skärblacka forming a new municipality of unitary type. In 1974 Vikbolandet was added. The number of original local government units (as of 1863) which are in the present municipality is 26.

Götavirke (Geatish Dyke) are the remains of two parallel defensive walls going from north to south between the villages of Västra Husby and Hylinge in Söderköping Municipality, Östergötland, Sweden. The walls cover the distance between the lakes Asplången and Lillsjön . North of Asplången there are remains of several ancient hill forts that may have been part of the defensive line. South of Lake Lillsjön, the terrain is so hard to pass that it hardly needed any defenses.

Nya Parken is a multi-purpose stadium in Norrköping, Sweden constructed in 1903. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The Getå Railroad Disaster (Swedish: Järnvägsolyckan i Getå) was a train disaster caused by a landslide in Getå, a town that is now part of the municipality of Norrköping on 1 October 1918. To date, it is the worst rail accident in Swedish history. The derailment occurred when the layers of colloidal clay and gravel in the embankment that had been cut into the hill gave way.
Konst- och industriutställningen i Norrköping 1906
At the initiative of Norrköpings Fabriksförening och Handtverksförning it was decided an art and industrial exhibition should be held in Norrköping between June 1st - September 15th, 1906. The exhibition was opened by the Crown Prince Gustaf and was mostly held at the area south of Sylten. The Architect Carl Bergsten drew the exhibition's two main buildings, such as Industrihallen that was 7,500 m² with places for 630 artists, he also drew the plans for the Jaktpaviljongen.
