Central Bank bombing
The Central Bank bombing was one of the deadliest terrorist attacks carried out by the LTTE during the Separatist civil war in Sri Lanka between the government and the Tamil Tigers. The attack took place on January 31, 1996, in the Sri Lankan city of Colombo. A lorry (42-6452) containing about 440 pounds of high explosives crashed through the main gate of the Central Bank, a seaside high-rise which managed most of the financial business of the country.
Mahanama College
Mahanama College, Colombo was established in 1954 as a public school in Sri Lanka. It is a National School, which is controlled by the Central government as opposed to the Provincial Council. The school accommodates 5500+ students on a campus spread over 10 acres . The academic staff of 200+ is led by the principal, Mr W. A. Premalal Kumarasiri.
Galle Face Green
The Galle Face is a promenade which stretches for a half kilometre along the coast in the heart of the financial and business district of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The promenade was initially laid out in 1859 by the Governor of what was then British Ceylon, Sir Henry Ward, and was also used for horse racing and as a golf course, although the original Galle Face Green extended over a much larger area than is seen today. It was known as the Colpitty Race Course.
Viharamahadevi Park
The Viharamahadevi Park (formerly Victoria Park) is a public park located in Colombo, next to the National Museum in Sri Lanka. It is the oldest and largest park of the Port of Colombo. Situated in front of the colonial-style Town Hall building, the park is named after Queen Viharamahadevi, the mother of King Dutugamunu. The park was built during the British rule of Sri Lanka, and was originally named "Victoria Park" after Queen Victoria.

National Library and Documentation Services Board is the agency of the government of Sri Lanka which helps maintains all state libraries around the country including the Colombo Library but the management of individual libraries in cities and towns are carried out by the Municipal Council. The National Library and Documentation Services Board (NLDSB) was established under the act No: 51 of 1998 succeeding the Sri Lanka National Library Services Board which was established in 1970.
Beira Lake
Beira Lake is a lake in the heart of the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The lake is surrounded by many important businesses in the city. It occupied approximately 165 hectares of land 100 years ago and has been reduced to mere 65 hectares today due to various reasons. During the colonial era of the Portuguese, and the English the lake was used to transport goods within the city.
Prime Minister's House (Colombo)

Echelon Barracks
Echelon Barracks was a former military barracks situated in Colombo fort, Colombo. Build during the late nineteenth century as headquarters of the British Army Garrison of Ceylon, it was occupied by the newly formed Ceylon Army, following independence. It was made up of a two-storey barrack blocks, with wide verandahs, formed a square around a parade ground large enough for several football and hockey pitches. This parade ground gained the name Echelon Square adjoining the then old Parliament.
Bandaranayake College
Bandaranayake College Gampaha was founded in September 1918. It is considered to be the leading Public School in Gampaha. It is a National School, meaning that it is controlled by the central government as opposed to the Provincial Council and provides only the secondary education. Bandaranayaka College is a boys' secondary school as well as the foremost college in Sri Lanka.
SLAF Colombo
SLAF Colombo is the Sri Lanka Air Force headquarters in Colombo. In this capacity it has the offices of the Commander of the Air Force, Chief of Staff, the Board of Management (BOM) and Board of Directors (BOD) of the Sri Lanka Air Force. All air and ground operations are directed from SLAF Colombo. Apart from functioning as a headquarters, it is a limited air base for helicopter operations.
Town Hall, Colombo
The Town Hall of Colombo is the headquarters of the Colombo Municipal Council and the office of the Mayor of Colombo. Built in front of the Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo, Sri Lanka, it is the meeting place for the elected municipal council. The foundation stone was laid on May 24, 1924, by Mayor of Colombo T. Reid, CCS, and the work was completed in 1927. Designed by S. J.

Ceylon Electricity Board
The Ceylon Electricity Board (also abbreviated as CEB), is the largest electricity company in Sri Lanka. With a market share of nearly 100%, it controls all major functions of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and retailing in Sri Lanka. It is one of the only two on-grid electricity companies in the country; the other being Lanka Electricity Company. The company earned approximately LKR110.9 billion in 2008, with a total of nearly 4.1 million consumer accounts.
All Saints College, Galle
All Saints College, founded in 1867 in Galle, Sri Lanka, is located in a Dutch fortress in a residential suburb of Galle known as the Galle Dutch Fort, along the Light House Street. The fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a history spanning over 140 years it has been able to gain many achievements of excellence both in the academic and non academic fields.
Old Parliament Building, Colombo
The Old Parliament Building, is the building that houses the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka. Situated in the Colombo fort facing the sea, it is in close proximity to the President's House, Colombo. The building houses the island's legislature for 53 years until the New Parliament Complex was opened at Sri Jayawardenepura in 1983. It is next to the General Treasury Building.

Royal College, Colombo
Royal College is a selective entry school in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Founded in January 1835, the college's full official name is Royal College Colombo, it is usually referred to simply as "Royal" in Sri Lanka. It is considered to be the leading public school in Sri Lanka. The oldest public school in the country, it was founded in the British public school tradition and was one of the first schools to be designated as a National School by the Sri Lankan Government.

The house has been used as residence for visiting heads of state and local government ministers. As at present it is used by the D. M. Jayaratne, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka as his official residence.

Bandaranayake Central College, Veyangoda, also known as “Veyangoda Central College (VCC)”, is a National school in Sri Lanka. The school was originally one of the three first Central Colleges established under the education reforms of late Hon. C. W. W. Kannangara, who introduced free education in Sri Lanka. Today about 2640 students are studying from grade 6 to 13 and academic staff of 135 are engaged in the teaching process.
Altair (Building)
The Altair Project (or Altair) is a residential and commercial development under construction in Colombo, Sri Lanka. At 68 stories and 240m, the building will be the tallest residential building in Colombo when it is completed. The building is situated adjacent to Beira Lake on 2 acres of land located at 127, Sir James Pieris Mawatha, Colombo 00200. As of March 2013, piling is in progress.
