San Vicente of Oviedo

San Vicente de Oviedo is a church and monastery in Oviedo, Spain. Founded November 25, 781 AD, by Máximo and Fromestano, the monestery was dedicated to Saint Vincent, a Valencian deacon and martyr. It was the first construction in Oviedo, a city considered to have been founded by Máximo and Fromestano. The church was later transformed into a monastery following the Benedictine Rule, with twenty-six monks. The style of the building is Romanesque, although reworked in the 11th and 12th centuries.

San Julián de los Prados

San Julián de los Prados, also known as Santullano, is a Pre-Ramirense church from the beginning of the 9th century in Oviedo, the capital city of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. The monastery of San Pelayo is a convent for women of the Benedictine order, located in the city of Oviedo, Spain. It is also known as the monastery of the pelayas. The monastery was founded by King Alfonso II of Asturias (the chaste), and first dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, but later to Saint Pelayo martyr, whose relics were supposedly acquired in 994 by the monastery. The monastery stands near the Cathedral of Oviedo.

La Foncalada

The Foncalada is a fountain of potable water located outside the city walls of Oviedo, Asturias, Spain; it was built by king Alfonso III of Asturias in the 9th century. This building remains the only surviving civil architectural item for public use of the High Middle Ages. Its name was given after the inscription in Latin: fontem calatam written on it. Built in Pre-Romanesque style, it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 1998.
