Cap de Creus
Cap de Creus is a peninsula and a headland located at the far NE of Catalonia, some 25 km south from the French border. The nearest town is Figueres, capital of the Alt Empordà and birthplace of Salvador Dalí. Cap de Creus is the easternmost point of mainland Catalonia and therefore of Spain and the Iberian Peninsula. Presently the area is a Natural Park.
Banyuls AOC
Banyuls is a French appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for a fortified apéritif or dessert wine made from old vines cultivated in terraces on the slopes of the Catalan Pyrenees in the Roussillon county of France, bordering, to the south, the Empordà wine region in Catalonia in Spain. The AOC production area is limited to four communes of the Côte Vermeille: Banyuls (from which the AOC takes its name), Cerbère, Collioure and Port-Vendres.
ElBulli
elBulli was a Michelin 3-star restaurant near the town of Roses, Catalonia, Spain, run by chef Ferran Adrià. The small restaurant overlooked Cala Montjoi, a bay on Catalonia's Costa Brava, and was described as "the most imaginative generator of haute cuisine on the planet. " The restaurant was also associated with molecular gastronomy. The restaurant closed on July 30, 2011. It will reopen as a creativity centre in 2014.
Principality of Catalonia
The Principality of Catalonia, is a historic territory in the northeastern Iberian Peninsula, mostly in Spain and with an adjoining portion in southern France. The first reference to Catalonia and the Catalans appears in the Liber maiolichinus de gestis Pisanorum illustribus, a Pisan chronicle (written between 1117 and 1125) of the conquest of Minorca by a joint force of Italians, Catalans, and Occitans.
Empuriabrava
Empuriabrava is one of the largest marinas in the world. It is located on the coast of Girona, the Costa Brava,. Empuriabrava was originally built on a swamp, and was transformed into a touristic community with original planning in 1964 and completion in 1975. The town has more than 40 km of canals and a seasonal, summer population of around 80,000. The Greco-Roman acropolis of Sant Martí d'Empúries is nearby.
Gulf of Roses
The Gulf of Roses is the most north eastern bay on the Catalan coast. The bay is 16 km wide and is formed by the valley of the Fluvià river but also contains the estuaries of the Manol and la Muga rivers. These rivers drain the southern flanks of the eastern end of the Pyrenees and Alberes. The area is often affected by the severe Tramuntana wind. The bay contains the resorts of Roses, Castelló d'Empúries/Empuriabrava, Sant Pere Pescador, Empúries and L'Escala.

Castelló d'Empúries
Castelló d'Empúries is a town and municipality in the Alt Empordà in Girona, Catalonia, and lies 9 km east of Figueres. In 1079, Castelló d'Empúries became the capital of the Empúries county due to the previous capital, Sant Martí d'Empúries, being too easily sacked by pirates. 1325-1341 saw a period of large expansion of this capital town, which ultimately ceased being the capital once the county joined the Crown of Aragon and Catalonia in 1385.

Hotel Belvédère du Rayon Vert
The Belvédère du Rayon Vert was a hotel in Cerbère, France, designed in the art deco style by the Perpignan architect, Léon Baille, and built between 1928 and 1932. It has the overall appearance of a ship. It has its own cinema, and a tennis court on the roof. In 1987, the building was added to the supplementary list of historic monuments. Part of the building has been brought back into use as apartments, with some original features. The building is open to visitors most afternoons.

Port Lligat
Port Lligat or Portlligat is a small village located in a small bay on Cap de Creus peninsula, on the Costa Brava of the Mediterranean Sea, near the city of Cadaqués in the Alt Empordà comarca, in Girona province, Catalonia, Spain. The Island of Port Lligat (or Island of Portlligat) is located at the entrance of the bay, separated from the mainland by a narrow 30-metre-wide canal. Salvador Dalí lived in the village and his house has been converted into the Casa-Museo Salvador Dalí.
Portlligat Museum-House
The Portlligat Museum-House is a small fisherman's hut where Salvador Dalí usually lived and worked from 1930 to 1982, when, upon the death of his wife Gala Dalí, he took up residence at Púbol Castle. The house has a labyrinthine structure which, from one point of departure, the Bear Lobby, spreads out and winds around in a succession of zones linked by narrow corridors, slight changes of level and blind passageways.
Quermançó Castle
The Quermançó Castle is located about 2km north of Vilajuïga, Spain, situated on top of a remote hill and directly accessible only on foot from a small road that turns off the N-260. The history of the castle dates back to 1078. It was owned by Counts in the Empúries region. In 1472, during the Catalonian Civil War, the castle was occupied by forces loyal to John II.
Siege of Roses (1794–95)
The Siege of Roses (or Siege of Rosas) began on 28 November 1794 and lasted until 4 February 1795 when the Spanish garrison abandoned the port and the forces of the First French Republic took control. Dominique Catherine de Pérignon commanded the French army and Domingo Salvator Izquierdo led the Spanish defenders. The siege took place during the War of the Pyrenees which was part of the French Revolutionary Wars. The war ended in July 1795 and Roses was soon restored to Spain.

Siege of Roses (1808)
The Siege of Roses or Siege of Rosas from 7 November to 5 December 1808 saw an Imperial French corps led by Laurent Gouvion Saint-Cyr invest a Spanish garrison commanded by Peter O'Daly. After a siege lasting a month, the Spanish surrendered the port to the French. Roses (Rosas) is located 43 kilometres northeast of Girona (Gerona), Spain. The action occurred during the Peninsular War, part of the Napoleonic Wars.
