Tenerife airport disaster
The Tenerife airport disaster occurred on Sunday, March 27, 1977, when two Boeing 747 passenger aircraft collided on the runway of Los Rodeos Airport (now known as Tenerife North Airport) on the Spanish island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. With a total of 583 fatalities, the crash is the deadliest accident in aviation history. After a bomb exploded at Gran Canaria Airport, many aircraft were diverted to Tenerife.
Pyramids of Güímar
The Pyramids of Güímar refer to six rectangular pyramid-shaped, terraced structures, built from lava stone without the use of mortar. They are located in the district of Chacona, part of the town of Güímar on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. There are claims that the structures have been dated to the 19th century and their original function explained as a byproduct of contemporary agricultural techniques. However, results of excavations have so far proved inconclusive.
Tenerife North Airport
Tenerife North Airport, formerly Los Rodeos Airport, is one of the two international airports on the island of Tenerife, Spain. It is located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, 11 km by road from Santa Cruz and at an altitude of 633 metres . In 1977, the airport was the site of the worst accident in aviation history when 583 passengers and crew were killed after two Boeing 747s collided on the runway in heavy fog. Both planes exploded and started fires, and were completely destroyed.
Teide Observatory
The Observatorio del Teide (Teide Observatory) is an astronomical observatory on Tenerife operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. Opened in 1964, it became one of the first major international observatories, attracting telescopes from different countries around the world because of the good astronomical seeing conditions. Later the emphasis for optical telescopes shifted more towards Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma.
Güímar
Güímar is the name of a municipality, town, and valley in the eastern part of the Spanish island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (province). The municipality is located in the southeastern end of the island, and extends for 1,029 square kilometers from the mountainous interior to the beaches on the Atlantic, and borders the municipalities of La Orotava, Arafo, and Fasnia. Its estimated population is 15,271.
El Rosario, Tenerife
El Rosario is a municipality of the northeastern part of the island of Tenerife in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife province, on the Canary Islands. The city is also a suburban area of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife area. The seat of the municipality is La Esperanza, located in the mountains to the west. The population is 15,542, its density is 390.99/km² and the area is 39.42 km².
Fasnia
Fasnia is the name of a municipality, town, and valley in the eastern part of the Spanish island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The municipality is located in the southeastern end of the island, and extends for 45.1 square kilometers from the mountainous interior to the beaches on the Atlantic. Fasnia is on a valley setting. Its estimated population is 2,641.
Vilaflor, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Vilaflor (Catalonian for "Villa Flower") is the name of a Spanish municipality and a village in the south central part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife (province). Vilaflor, with an altitude of 1,400 m, is the highest village of Tenerife (though the highest municipality is La Orotava because the summit of Teide, of 3,718 m, highest point of the Islands and the whole Spain, is within its area).
La Victoria de Acentejo
La Victoria de Acentejo (Spanish meaning Victory of Acentejo in which the Spanish won in 1494) is located on the north coast of Tenerife. It is located 12 km E of Puerto de la Cruz, about 26 km SSW of the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (City), and 15 km from Tenerife North Airport. La Victoria is linked by the TF5 Motorway and the old highway to Icod de los Vinos and the capital. The valley area is mostly farmland and urban areas covers much of the area on the Atlantic.
La Matanza de Acentejo
La Matanza de Acentejo (Spanish meaning Slaughter of Acentejo in which the Spanish won in 1494) is located on the north coast of Tenerife. It is located 15 km E of Puerto de la Cruz, about 23 km SSW of the island's capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, NE of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and WSW of the Tenerife North Airport. The population is 7,490, its density is 448.77/km² and the area is 14.11 km². The elevation is 520 m.
El Sauzal
El Sauzal is located on the north coast of Tenerife 19 to 20 km E of Puerto de la Cruz, about 20 km SSW of the island's capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, NE of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and WSW of Tenerife North Airport. The population is 9.100 (1 January 2013), its density is 451.50/km² and the area is 18.31 km². The elevation is 300 m. Santa Úrsula is linked with the TF2 superhighway and the old highway linking Icod de los Vinos and the capital.

The population is 11,959, its density is 529.39/km² and the area is 22.59 km². The elevation is 290 m. The Palmetum of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a botanical garden of 120.000 m2 specialized in palms . It is located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The park is divided in "biogeographical sections" and includes a large system of waterfalls, streams and ponds, an ethnographical museum dedicated to palms, and a display shade house.

Malpaís de Güímar
Malpaís de Güímar or Badlands of Guimar consist of a volcanic cone, subsidiary cones, and several basaltic lava flows in the Güímar municipality on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands,. They total in area about 290 hectares. The lava flows are quite recent, less than 10,000 years old of the typical ʻaʻā type. The large cone is called Montaña Grande (Big Mountain) and reaches a height of 276 m .

Centro Internacional de Ferias y Congresos de Tenerife

The building, covers an area exceeding 40,000 square meters in the sea front of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Is in close proximity to other venues such as the Parque Marítimo César Manrique, the Auditorio de Tenerife and the Palmetum. This building is also the headquarters of the World Trade Center in Tenerife.

The Bradford Robotic Telescope (BRT) is an autonomous astronomical telescope located at Teide Observatory, Tenerife in the Canary Islands. It is owned by the University of Bradford and was built between 2002 and 2004 for remote use by schools and individuals worldwide. As of November 2009, the observatory has returned over 70,000 images and has more than 23,000 users.

Museum of Science and the Cosmos
The Museum of Science and the Cosmos (Spanish: El Museo de las Ciencias y el Cosmos) belongs to the Autonomous Organism of Museums and the Cabildo de Tenerife. It opened in 1993 under the initiative of the Cabildo and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC). Located in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. It is considered the main museum of science and astronomy in the Canary Islands and one of the most important of Spain.

The Iglesia-Parroquia Matriz de Nuestra Señora de La Concepción (Church of the Immaculate Conception) is a Catholic church located in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. This church is almost a twin of the Church of the Conception of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It was the first parish was established in Tenerife. The site of the church was established by the conqueror Alonso Fernández de Lugo after the celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi in 1496.
