It passes through the towns of Azkoitia and Azpeitia.
Azpeitia
Azpeitia (meaning 'down the rock' in Basque) is a town and municipality within the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country of Spain, located on the Urola river a few kilometres east of Azkoitia. Its population is 13,708 (2001 estimate). It is located 16 miles southwest of Donostia/San Sebastián. Azpeitia is the birthplace of Ignatius of Loyola. His birth home is now preserved as a part of large Jesuit compound, the Sanctuary of Loyola, a major attraction of tourist and pilgrims alike.

The Sanctuary of Arantzazu is a Franciscan sanctuary located in Oñati, Basque Country, Spain. The shrine is a much appreciated place among Gipuzkoans, with the Virgin of Arantzazu standing for the main worship figure and patron of the province along with Ignatius of Loyola.
Aizkorri
Aizkorri or Aitzgorri (meaning in Basque 'bare stone', literally 'red stone') is a massif, the highest one of the Basque Autonomous Community with 1,551 m AMSL at its highest point (peak Aitxuri, meaning 'white stone'). The massif is formed by a crest of limestone summits aligned north-west to south-east all in a row at the south of the Gipuzkoa Province, namely Artzanburu, Andreaitz, Arbelaitz (1,513 m), Iraule (1,511 m), Aitxuri, Aketegi (1,549 m) and Aizkorri (1,528 m).
San Adrian (tunnel)
The San Adrian tunnel or Lizarrate represents the most outstanding milestone in the historic inland Basque route of the Way of St. James. It consists of a natural cave carved by water erosion in the rock (called Lizarrate, arguably stemming from "leize arrate", 'the stone gate of the cave') with an opening on either side north and south; it also holds an hermitage inside.
Sanctuary of Loyola
The Sanctuary of Loyola or Shrine and Basilica of Loyola is a monumental and religious complex built around the birthplace of Ignatius of Loyola (known to Catholics as St. Ignatius of Loyola), founder of the Society of Jesus, known as the Jesuits. It is located in the Loyola district of the Azpeitia municipality in the Guipuzcoa province of the Basque Country, in Spain. The sanctuary is located along the Urola river between the towns of Azpeitia and Azkoitia.
