Joseon
Joseon (also Chosŏn, Choson, Chosun, Cho-sen), was a Korean state founded by Taejo Yi Seong-gye that lasted for approximately five centuries. It was founded following the aftermath of the overthrow of the Goryeo Dynasty in what is today the city of Kaesong. Early on, Korea was retitled and the capital was relocated to modern-day Seoul. The kingdom's northernmost borders were expanded to the natural boundaries at the Amnok and Duman rivers through the subjugation of the Jurchens.
Yongsan Garrison
United States Army Garrison Yongsan is located in Seoul, South Korea, and is home to the headquarters for the U.S. military presence in South Korea, known as United States Forces Korea (USFK) and Installation Management Command Pacific Region. The garrison previously served as headquarters for the Imperial Japanese Army from 1910 to 1945. The garrison comprises 2.5 square kilometres is located within Yongsan-gu district of Seoul, Korea's capital.

Seoul Central Mosque
The Seoul Central Mosque opened in 1976 in Itaewon, Seoul. It is located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu. It holds lectures in English, Arabic, and Korean. Friday prayers regularly attract up to 800 worshipers at 1pm, the majority of them being of Arab, Indian, Pakistani or Turkish descent. As the only mosque in Seoul, it has become somewhat of a tourist attraction for Koreans to visit on weekends to hear talks given on Islam.
Itaewon
Itaewon is a city district, in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is served by Seoul Subway Line 6 via Itaewon, Noksapyeong and Hanganjin stations. About 22,000 people reside in the district and it is a popular area for residents of Seoul, tourists, and U.S. Military personnel in Korea.
War Memorial of Korea
War Memorial of Korea is located in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It opened in 1994 on the former site of the army headquarters to exhibit and memorialize the Military history of Korea. The memorial building has six indoor exhibition rooms and an outdoor exhibition centre displaying over 13,000 war memorabilia and military equipment.
Dragon Hill Lodge
Dragon Hill Lodge is a U.S. Department of Defense - owned hotel in Seoul, South Korea. It is co-located with and is a part of the Yongsan Garrison (which mean "Dragon Mountain" in Korean) military community. The Lodge is an Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) resort hotel and serves thousands of guests each year, all of whom are required to be active or retired military, DOD employees, or their family members.
Namyeong Station
Namyeong Station (Station 134) is a ground-level metro station on Seoul Subway Line 1 in Galwol Dong, Yongsan Gu, Seoul, South Korea. Subways of Line 1 move on Gyeongbu Line from this station. The station's sole exit offers access to a range of schools and Yongsan Railway Office. Travel time from Namyeong Station to Incheon on Line 1 is 65 minutes. Though not connected by transfer, Namyeong Station is only a two- to three-minute walk from Sookmyung Women's University Station on Line No. 4.
Samgakji Station
Samgakji Station is a subway station on the Seoul Subway Line 4 and Line 6. The Seoul War Memorial is a short walk away from exits 11 and 12. This station is on the west end of the Yongsan Garrison. The base is a short walk from exit 13. Although not connected to this station by a transfer passageway, Namyeong Station on Line 1 is a short walk from here. The Samgakji area was made famous in Korea because of a 1967 song by Baeho titled "Return to Samgakji.
Noksapyeong Station
Noksapyeong Station is a subway station on the Seoul Subway Line 6. It is located on the eastern end of the Yongsan Garrison, and the western end of Itaewon. It is the main station servicing the Haebangchon and Hoenamu-gil communities, which are known for having significant foreign populations. This station has low ridership due to its location, but is noted for its impressive interior design.
Sookmyung Women's University Station
Sookmyung Women's University Station is subway station 427, on the Seoul Subway Line 4. It is located in front of the main entrance of the Sookmyung Women's University. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood of the subway station. Though not connected by transfer, Sookmyung Women's University Station is only a two- to three-minute walk from Namyeong Station on Line No. 1.
Operation Killer
Operation Killer was the start of the second major counter offensive launched by United Nations forces against the People's Volunteer Army and the North Korean Army during the Korean War between 20 February and 6 March 1951. The offensive was formulated by General Matthew Ridgway with the goal of annihilating enemy forces below the Arizona Line and was immediately followed by Operation Ripper.
