Suwon
Suwon is the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. A major city of over a million inhabitants, Suwon lies approximately 30 kilometres south of Seoul. It is traditionally known as "The City of Filial Piety". Suwon has existed in various forms throughout Korea's history, growing from a small settlement in tribal times to a major industrial and cultural city today. Suwon is the only remaining completely walled city in South Korea.
Battle of Osan
The Battle of Osan was the first engagement between United States and North Korean forces during the Korean War, on July 5, 1950. A U.S. task force of 400 infantry supported by an artillery battery was moved to Osan, south of the South Korean capital Seoul, and ordered to fight as a rearguard to delay advancing North Korean forces while additional U.S. troops arrived in the country to form a stronger defensive line to the south.
Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory
Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Kyung Hee University. It is located in Giheung-gu, Yongin, South Korea. It was the first observatory in the nation to discover a variable star, later named the Kyung Hee Star.
Byeongjeom Station
Byeongjeom Station is a station on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It is the currently the only train station serving the city of Hwaseong. It is the southern terminal station for approximately half of the subway trains on this line who then carry on to the nearby depot, one of the 5 depots on Line 1, with the remainder continuing to Cheonan.
Sema Station
Sema Station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 1 in the city of Osan, South Korea. Services on the Gyeongbu Line also pass through this station.
Metapolis
Metapolis is a complex of four residential skyscrapers in Hwaseong, South Korea With the ground broken in July 2006 by POSCO E&C and the buildings topped-out in August 2009, the structures were completed in July 2010. The two tallest towers (#101 and #104) have heights of 249m and 247m respectively and 66 storeys each, making them the third-tallest residential skyscrapers in South Korea and the centerpiece of the New Dongtan City.
Seodongtan Station
Seodongtan Station is a station on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It serves the cities of Hwaseong and Osan in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The station takes its name (literally West Dongtan) from its local area of the city of Hwaseong, but stradles the border with Osan, in which it is actually mostly located and indeed in which its postal address lies.
