Daegu
Daegu, (대구, 大邱, literally 'large hill') formerly spelled Taegu, and officially known as the Daegu Metropolitan City, is a city in South Korea, the fourth largest after Seoul, Busan, and Incheon, and the third largest metropolitan area in the nation with over 2.5 million residents. The city is the capital and principal city of the surrounding Gyeongsangbuk-do province, although it is not legally part of the province.
Kyungpook National University
Kyungpook National University (KNU) (경북대학교), abbreviated as Kyungdae (경대), is a leading national university in Daegu, South Korea. It is one of 10 Flagship Korean National Universities. The university was established in September 1946, succeeding the former Daegu Teacher's College, Daegu Agricultural College, and Daegu Medical College. In 2008, it merged with Sangju National University.

The Daegu subway fire was a mass murder on February 18, 2003 which killed at least 198 people and injured at least 147. An arsonist set fire to a train stopped at the Jungangno Station of the Daegu Metropolitan Subway in Daegu, South Korea. The fire then spread to a second train which had entered the station from the opposite direction a few minutes later.

Buk District, Daegu
Buk District is a district in northwestern Daegu, South Korea. It adjoins Chilgok County on the north. The area is 95.46 km². The population is about 450,000. Buk-gu was first created as an office of Daegu in 1938, during the period of Japanese rule. It was raised to the status of a district in 1963. For most of the twentieth century, Buk-gu was purely an administrative division of Daegu, without any local autonomy.
Gongsan Dam
Gongsan Dam is a dam in Jimyo-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, South Korea. Built across the Donghwacheon stream flowing south from Palgongsan, the dam is responsible for securing the water supply for much of northern Daegu. The dam's construction began in 1979 and was completed in 1981. Since then, the use of much of the surrounding land has been restricted, due to concerns that development might lead to a loss of water quality. Local residents have protested these restrictions from time to time.

Daegu Civic Stadium
Daegu Civic Stadium (Hangul: 대구 시민 운동장) is a sports complex in Daegu, South Korea. Its main stadium is currently used mostly for football matches, but it is occasionally used to host large-scale karaoke events. During the 1986 Asian Games and 1988 Summer Olympics, it hosted some football matches. The stadium has a capacity of max 30,000 (19,467 seats) people and was opened on 20 June 1948. After stadium was expansion and reconstruction in 1975, and was renovated and repaired on 8 September 2003.

Battle of Taegu
The Battle of Taegu was an engagement between UN and North Korean forces early in the Korean War, with fighting continuing from August 5–20, 1950 around the city of Taegu, South Korea. It was a part of the Battle of Pusan Perimeter, and was one of several large engagements fought simultaneously. The battle ended in a victory for the United Nations after their forces were able to drive off an offensive by North Korean divisions attempting to cross the Naktong River and assault the city.
Battle of the Bowling Alley
In the Battle of the Bowling Alley (August 12–25, 1950), United Nations (UN) forces defeated North Korean (NK) forces early in the Korean War near the city of Taegu, South Korea. The battle took place in a narrow valley, dubbed the "Bowling Alley", which was north of Taegu. It followed a week of fighting between the North Korean People's Army 13th Division and the Republic of Korea Army's (ROK) 1st Division along the latter's last defensible line in the hills north of the city.

Banwoldang underground shopping was created with the second line opening. Banwoldang, the name of station, is derived from the spot in which there is the first department store in Daegu.
Jungangno Station
Jungangno Station is a station of Daegu Subway Line 1 in Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea. With its prime location at the heart of Daegu and its proximity to a major shopping district, it is the second-busiest station in the Daegu Subway, after Banwoldang Station, which is the only transfer point between the Line 1 and Line 2. Many facilities, including a branch of Kyobo Book Centre, movie theaters, and several large banks are in the vicinity.
