Huguenot Tunnel
The Huguenot Tunnel is a toll tunnel near Cape Town, South Africa. It extends the N1 national road through the Du Toitskloof mountains that separate Paarl from Worcester, providing a route that is safer, faster (between 15 and 26 minutes) and shorter (by 11 km) than the old Du Toitskloof Pass travelling over the mountain. Geological surveys and design started in 1973, and excavation followed in 1984, tunneling from both ends using drilling and blasting.
Afrikaans Language Monument
The Afrikaans Language Monument is located on a hill overlooking Paarl, Western Cape Province, South Africa. Officially opened on 10 October 1975, it commemorates the semicentenary of Afrikaans being declared an official language of South Africa separate from Dutch. Also, it was erected on the 100th anniversary of the founding of Genootskap van Regte Afrikaners (the Society of Real Afrikaners) in Paarl, the organization that helped strengthen Afrikaners' identity and pride in their language.
Drakenstein Correctional Centre
Drakenstein Correctional Centre (formerly Victor Verster Prison) is a low-security prison between Paarl and Franschhoek, on the R301 road 5 km from the R45 Huguenot Road, in the valley of the Dwars River in the Western Cape of South Africa. The prison is famous for being the prison where Nelson Mandela spent the last three of the 27 years he spent in prison for campaigning against Apartheid.

Boys' High School, known in Afrikaans as Hoër Jongenskool Paarl (also known as Boishaai, Paarl Boys', built in 1868, BHS or HJS) is one of the oldest schools in South Africa. The school is situated at the heart of Paarl, a town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The first headmaster of the school was Rev. George Jeffreys, after him followed James Rettie, Mr J Inglis and the esteemed Mr T. Engela followed by Mr L Knoetze. As of 2007 the headmaster of the school is Mr Derek Swart.

Paarl Gimnasium is a school in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa. Rev. van Lingen founded the school in the centre of town in 1858. The school has had a number of significant sporting achievements and has produced some of South Africa's top Rugby players including Ashley Johnson Schalk Burger, Jean De Villiers, Marius Joubert and De Wet Barry The primary school section of Gimnasium was founded in 1858 as a Dutch Christian school for boys, with the High School being founded much later.

The Goat Tower
A Goat Tower is a decorative goat house, modeled on a European garden Folly, an early example of which was built in Portugal in the 19th century. A South African goat tower at Fairview Winery was built in the 20th century and became famous, inspiring additional copies throughout the world. The first goat tower (Torre das Cabras) at a winery was built by Fernando Guedes da Silva da Fonseca (1871-1946) at Aveleda, one of the oldest and most famous wineries in the Vinho Verde region of Portugal.
Bain's Kloof Pass
Bainskloof Pass is situated in the Western Cape province of South Africa, on the Regional road R301 between Wellington and Ceres. This 30 kilometer pass was completed in 1853 and is one of the most picturesque passes in the Cape. The pass was built using convict labour, by Andrew Geddes Bain, the most famous of southern Africa's road engineers. Bain achieved this remarkable feat without any formal training. At the summit (595 metres) are a plantation and picnic ground.

Huguenot railway station
Huguenot railway station is the main passenger railway station in the town of Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa. It is served by Metrorail commuter trains on the Northern Line. It is also the second stop out of Cape Town for Shosholoza Meyl inter-city trains originating or terminating there. Although there is a railway station bearing the name of "Paarl", it is located in an industrial area in the southern part of Paarl, and express and inter-city trains do not stop there.
Wellington railway station (South Africa)
Wellington railway station is the railway station that serves the town of Wellington in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is the terminus of the Metrorail Northern Line service from Cape Town Station, except for a single train daily in each direction as far as Worcester. Wellington is also a stop for Shosholoza Meyl inter-city trains that originate or terminate in Cape Town.

Babylonstoren valley
Dating back to 1690, Babylonstoren is one of the best preserved werfs (farm yards) in the Cape Dutch tradition. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, it is situated in the Drakenstein Valley, on the slopes of the Simonsberg, between Franschhoek and Paarl, in the Western Cape region of South Africa. A formal fruit and vegetable garden of botanical diversity, inspired by the Company's Gardens in Cape Town, supplies Babylonstoren's restaurant Babel with fruit and vegetables.
