Cradle of Humankind
The Cradle of Humankind is a World Heritage Site first named by UNESCO in 1999, about 50 kilometres northwest of Johannesburg, South Africa in the Gauteng province. This site currently occupies 47,000 hectares; it contains a complex of limestone caves, including the Sterkfontein Caves, where the 2.3-million year-old fossil Australopithecus africanus was found in 1947 by Dr. Robert Broom and John T. Robinson.
Hector Pieterson Museum
The Hector Pieterson Museum is a large museum located in Orlando West, Soweto, South Africa, two blocks away from where Hector Pieterson was shot and killed. The museum is named in his honour. It became one of the first museums in Soweto when it opened in 16 June 2002. A companion museum nearby is Mandela House, the former home of Nelson Mandela and his family, which has been run as a museum since 1997.

Avalon Cemetery
Avalon Cemetery is one of the largest graveyards in South Africa. It was opened in 1972, during the height of apartheid, as a graveyard exclusively for blacks. More than 300,000 people are buried on its 430 acres, the graves less than two feet apart. By 2010 the cemetery is expected to be at capacity, largely because of AIDS deaths.
Wonder Cave (Kromdraai, Gauteng)
The Wonder Cave, in Kromdraai, Gauteng, South Africa, is the third-largest cave chamber in the country, and is believed to be about 2.2 billion years old. The single chamber has an area of 46000 square metres, and is 125 metres long and 154 metres wide. It was discovered in the late 19th century by miners who dynamited and excavated limestone for the making of cement. Mining stopped during the Second Boer War, and never resumed.

"Little Foot" is the nickname given to an extraordinarily complete fossil hominin skeleton found in 1994–1998 in the cave system of Sterkfontein, South Africa.
Aloe Ridge Game Reserve
Aloe Ridge Game Reserve is a game reserve and conservation park in central Gauteng province in north-east South Africa, lying some 15 kilometres directly north-east of the Sterkfontein caves. Located near Mulder's Drift it protects white rhino, buffalo, hippo, and many antelope and rare bird species. The reserve also has a Zulu craft centre and is open to tourists.
Amakhosi Stadium
Amakhosi Stadium is the planned future home venue of South African football (soccer) club Kaizer Chiefs. The new stadium, will be part of a greater sports precinct being developed in Krugersdorp, roughly 40 km West from the central part of Johannesburg. Initially the sports precinct was planned not only to host Kaizer Chiefs and the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Programme, but also to include a: cricket field, rugby stadium, sports hotel, and a retail shopping centre.
Maponya Mall
Maponya Mall is a shopping centre in Soweto, South Africa. The 65,000 square-metre development cost R650m to build and officially opened in September 2007. The mall is owned by South African entrepreneur and property developer, Richard Maponya under The Maponya group in partnership with Investec and ZenProp property holdings.
Mandela House
The Nelson Mandela National Museum, commonly referred to as the Mandela House, is the house in Orlando West, Soweto, South Africa, that former South African president Nelson Mandela lived in from 1946 to 1962. It is located at number 8115, at the corner of Vilakazi and Ngakane streets, as short distance up the road from the home of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. Mandela donated the house to the Soweto Heritage Trust (of which he is the founder) on 1 September 1997, to run as a museum.

Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden
The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden (previously known as the Witwatersrand National Botanical Garden) is a 300 hectares botanical reserve in Roodepoort near Johannesburg. Formally established in 1982, it is one of the youngest of South Africa's National Botanical Gardens, but the site where it is located has been popular with visitors for many decades before that. The garden is home to a well known pair of Verreaux's Eagles that nest in the Roodekrans ridge which intersects the reserve.

Leratong Hospital is a hospital in Mogale City, Johannesburg, South Africa. The hospital won numerous awards including one for being "baby-friendly".
Dobsonville Stadium
Dobsonville Stadium, commercially known as the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Soweto, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is mostly used for football matches, but is also equipped with an athletics track. It is the home ground of Moroka Swallows, a football club which plays in the Premier Soccer League. It was also utilized as a training field for teams participating in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, after being renovated in 2009 and brought up to FIFA standards.
