Port Elizabeth Airport, formerly H.F. Verwoerd Airport, is an airport situated in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The airport is owned and operated by the Airports Company South Africa which also operates nine other airports around South Africa. The airport is located approximately two miles south of the city's central business district. The original name Boet Erasmus Stadium was named after Boet Erasmus, a former mayor of Port Elizabeth. It was used mostly for rugby union matches, as well as football. "EPRU" stands for Eastern Province Rugby Union, the company behind the stadium's historic primary tenants, the Mighty Elephants team in the Currie Cup.
