Gorée
Île de Gorée (i.e. "Gorée Island"; is one of the 19 communes d'arrondissement of the city of Dakar, Senegal. It is a 0.182 square kilometres island located 2 kilometres at sea from the main harbor of Dakar . Its population as of 31 January 2005 official estimates is 1,056 inhabitants, giving a density of 5,802 inh. per km², which is only half the average density of the city of Dakar. Gorée is both the smallest and the least populated of the 19 communes d'arrondissement of Dakar.
Mali Federation
The Mali Federation (Fédération du Mali) was a country in West Africa. It was formed by a union between Senegal and the Sudanese Republic. It was founded on April 4, 1959, within the French Community and became entirely self-governing when it gained independence from France on June 20, 1960. The federation collapsed shortly after independence, on 20 August 1960, when Senegal withdrew, due to political disagreements. The Sudanese Republic was renamed the Republic of Mali on 22 September 1960.
Yoff
Yoff is a town (commune d'arrondissement) part of the city (commune) of Dakar. It lies north of downtown Dakar and immediately north of Dakar Airport. The town is built along the broad beach at Yoff Bay. According to 31.12.2004 official estimates, the population of Yoff is 55,995 inhabitants. Administration is devolved to the town, which is essentially run by the Layene Islamic Brotherhood, the town featuring the mausoleum of its founder. As a result, no alcohol is available in the town.
Lake Retba
Lake Retba or Lac Rose lies north of the Cap Vert peninsula of Senegal, north east of Dakar. It is so named for its pink waters, caused by Dunaliella salina algae in the water that produce a red pigment that uses sunlight to create more energy, turning the waters pink. The color is particularly visible during the dry season. The lake is also known for its high salt content, which, like that of the Dead Sea, allows people to float easily.
Rufisque
Rufisque is a city in the Dakar region of western Senegal, at the base of the Cap-Vert Peninsula. It has a population of 179,797 (2002 census). In the past it was an important port city in its own right, but is now a suburb of Dakar. Rufisque is also the capital of the department of the same name.
Stade Leopold Senghor
Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor is a multi-purpose stadium in Dakar, Senegal. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has an athletics track. It serves as a home ground of ASC Jeanne d'Arc and the Senegal national football team. The stadium holds 60,000. It was built in 1985. On 13 October 2012, a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match between Senegal and Ivory Coast was abandoned due to rioting at the stadium. Senegal were disqualified from the tournament as a result.
House of Slaves (Gorée)
The House of Slaves (Maison des Esclaves) and its Door of No Return is a museum and memorial to the Atlantic slave trade on tiny Goree Island, 3 km off the coast of the city of Dakar, Senegal. Its museum, opened in 1962 and curated until his death in 2009 by Boubacar Joseph Ndiaye, is said to memorialise the final exit point of the slaves from Africa.

Guédiawaye is a town and département of the Dakar Region of Senegal. Lying on the Atlantic Ocean to the north east of Dakar city centre, in 2005 it had a population of 280,353. Until the mid-2000s, the département was part of Pikine.

Hann neighborhood sits along a crescent shaped beach called Hann Bay. Hann is part of the Hann Bel-Air commune d'arrondissement: a part of the municipal Dakar Department which covers the city of Dakar.

As of 2007, it had a population of 56,932. La Biscuiterie owes its name to the eponymous "Biscuiterie" (also known as "Biscuiterie de Medina", "Biscuit factory of Medina"), a former biscuit factory that has been restructured into an exhibition venue.

The Association des Jeunes pour la Sensibilisation et la Solidarite (AJSS) is a Senegalese organization whose stated aims are to help young Senegalese away from poverty, criminality and emigration. The AJSS was officially established 23 September 2005 after a meeting held by young people from Sicap-Liberté The AJSS has approximately 400 members.
