Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport
Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport (French: Aéroport International Léopold Sédar Senghor) is an international airport serving Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The airport is situated near the town of Yoff, north of Dakar. It was known as Dakar Yoff International Airport (French: Aéroport International de Dakar Yoff) until 9 October 1996, when it was renamed in honor of Léopold Sédar Senghor, the first president of Senegal.

The Mali Federation (Fédération du Mali) was a country in West Africa. It was formed by a union between Senegal and the Sudanese Republic. It was founded on April 4, 1959, within the French Community and became entirely self-governing when it gained independence from France on June 20, 1960. The federation collapsed shortly after independence, on 20 August 1960, when Senegal withdrew, due to political disagreements. The Sudanese Republic was renamed the Republic of Mali on 22 September 1960.

Stade Leopold Senghor
Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor is a multi-purpose stadium in Dakar, Senegal. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it also has an athletics track. It serves as a home ground of ASC Jeanne d'Arc and the Senegal national football team. The stadium holds 60,000. It was built in 1985. On 13 October 2012, a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match between Senegal and Ivory Coast was abandoned due to rioting at the stadium. Senegal were disqualified from the tournament as a result.

African Renaissance Monument
The African Renaissance Monument (French: Le Monument de la Renaissance africaine) is a 49m tall bronze statue located on top of one of the twin hills known as Collines des Mamelles, outside of Dakar, Senegal. Built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Ouakam suburb, the statue was designed by the Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby after an idea presented by president Abdoulaye Wade and built by a company from North Korea.

The Association des Jeunes pour la Sensibilisation et la Solidarite (AJSS) is a Senegalese organization whose stated aims are to help young Senegalese away from poverty, criminality and emigration. The AJSS was officially established 23 September 2005 after a meeting held by young people from Sicap-Liberté The AJSS has approximately 400 members.
