Manono Island
Manono is an island of Samoa, situated in the Apolima Strait between the main islands of Savai'i and Upolu, 3.4 km WNW off Lefatu Cape, the westernmost point of Upolu. There are four villages on the island with a total population of 889 (2006 Census). Electricity was only introduced in 1995 and there are several shops with beach fale accommodation for visitors. The boat trip from Upolu island takes about 20 minutes.
Aiga-i-le-Tai
Aiga-i-le-Tai is a district of Samoa which includes the small islands of Manono, Apolima and tiny uninhabited Nu'ulopa lying in the Apolima Strait between the country's two main islands of Upolu and Savai'i. The district includes part of the mainland at the western end of Upolu and surrounds an exclave of A'ana district, namely Satuimalufilufi village. Historically, Manono island has been the centre of the district.
Apai
Apai is one of four small villages on Manono Island in Samoa. The village population is 111 (2006 Census). The other villages on Manono island are Lepuia'i, Faleu and Salua. All the settlements on Manono Island fall within the political district of Aiga-i-le-Tai. Manono island is one of three isles in the Apolima Strait separating the country's two main islands Upolu and Savai'i. The other islands in the strait are Apolima and the tiny uninhabited islet of Nu'ulopa.
Faleu
Faleu is one of four small villages on Manono Island in Samoa. The village population is 354 (2006 Census). The other villages on Manono island are Lepuia'i, Apai and Salua. All the settlements on Manono Island fall within the political district of Aiga-i-le-Tai. There are also sub divisions within these villages that notes the pito nu'u or smaller areas within the villages. Manono Tai is the local and traditional term for this island, as the word Tai means 'distance from land'.

Salua is one of four small villages on Manono Island in Samoa. The village population is 201 (2006 Census). The other villages on Manono island are Apai, Faleu and Lepuia'i. All the settlements on Manono Island fall within the political district of Aiga-i-le-Tai. Manono island is one of three isles in the Apolima Strait separating the country's two main islands Upolu and Savai'i. The other islands in the strait are Apolima and the tiny uninhabited islet of Nu'ulopa it has an airforce base .
Nu'ulopa
Nu'ulopa is a small uninhabited island in the Apolima Strait between the islands of Upolu and Savai'i in Samoa. The island is part of Aiga-i-le-Tai district. Nu'ulopa is about 50m high. It is also a small forested rocky outcrop with coconut palms (Cocos nucifera) and a conservation area for flying foxes. The surrounding sea is a conservation area for turtles. Nu'ulopa sits between another two islands Apolima and Manono.
Apolima Uta
Apolima Uta is a village on the island of Upolu in Samoa. It is situated on the north west coast of the island in the political district of Aiga-i-le-Tai. The population is 415 (2006 Census).
Lepuia'i
Lepuia'i is one of four small villages on Manono Island in Samoa. The village population is 223 (2006 Census). The other villages on Manono island are Apai, Faleu and Salua. All the settlements on Manono Island fall within the political district of Aiga-i-le-Tai. Manono island is one of three isles in the Apolima Strait separating the country's two main islands Upolu and Savai'i. The other islands in the strait are Apolima and the tiny uninhabited islet of Nu'ulopa.
