Laborie
Laborie is a village on the south coast of Saint Lucia. It was originally called l'Islet a Caret after the Loggerhead sea turtles that were found in the area. The name Laborie is named after Baron de Laborie who was the French governor of Saint Lucia from 1784-1789. At that time the village had a population of 712. The French introduced large estates to the island and after the British took control of the island in 1814, many French landowners remained on their estates.

The Vieux Fort River is a river in Saint Lucia. It flows south-southeast, reaching the coast close to the country's southernmost point at the town of Vieux Fort.
George Odlum Stadium
George Odlum National Stadium is a 9,000 capacity football stadium in Vieux Fort, St Lucia. The stadium was handed over to the Government and people of St Lucia, represented by Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony and Minister for Education, Human Resource Development, Youth and Sports, Honourable Mario Michel, in July 2002. Its construction was financed by the People's Republic of China. It was given its current name in 2007.

In the 18th and 19th Centuries it used to be an important centre of the sugar industry in Saint Lucia before that industry declined.
