Chita Oblast
Chita Oblast was a federal subject of Russia in southeast Siberia, Russia. Its administrative center was the city of Chita. It had extensive international borders with China (998 km) and Mongolia (868 km) and internal borders with Irkutsk and Amur Oblasts, as well as with the Buryat and the Sakha Republics. Its area was 431,500 square kilometers . Population: 1,155,346; 1,377,975. The oblast was established on September 26, 1937.
Yablonoi Mountains
The Yablonoi Mountains or Yablonovy Mountains (Яблоновый хребет in Russian) is a mountain range in Siberia. It is in Transbaikal in Russia. The range runs north-east from Mongolia, passing just to the east of Lake Baikal. The Yablonoi Mountains run for about 1600 kilometres before joining with the Stanovoi Range. The range forms the dividing line between the rivers that empty into the Arctic Ocean and those that empty into the Pacific.
Transbaikal State University
Transbaikal State University (Russian: Забайкальский государственный университет) is an institution of higher education in Chita, Russia. It is the largest educational, scientific and innovative center in Zabaykalsky Krai. Transbaikal State University was established in 1974 on the base of the Technology Department of Irkutsk Technical Institute which was opened earlier in 1966.

Chita River
Chita, locally also called Chitinka (Читинка), is a river in Zabaykalsky Krai in Russia. It is 160 km long, and is a tributary of the Ingoda River. The river has its sources in the Yablonovy Mountains, and then flows in a south-southwesterly direction, until it joins the Ingoda River in the city of Chita (which has its name from the river). The river is heavily polluted, particularly from runoff from the city of Chita.
