GAZ
GAZ or Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod, translated as Gorky Automobile Plant (Russian: ГАЗ or Го́рьковский автомоби́льный заво́д), started in 1932 as NAZ, a cooperative enterprise between Ford and the Soviet Union. GAZ is the core company of GAZ Group holding, a part of Basic Element business group. The headquarters of GAZ Group is located in Nizhny Novgorod. Russian Machines Corporation is the controlling shareholder in OAO GAZ.
Oka River
Oka is a river in central Russia, the largest right tributary of the Volga. It flows through the regions of Oryol, Tula, Kaluga, Moscow, Ryazan, Vladimir, and Nizhny Novgorod and is navigable over a large part of its total length, as far upstream as to the town of Kaluga. Its length exceeds 1,500 kilometres . The Russian capital Moscow sits on one of the Oka's tributaries—the Moskva River.
Makaryev Fair
Makaryev Fair was a fair in Russia held annually every July near Makaryev Monastery on the left bank of the Volga River from the mid-16th century to 1816. Following a massive fire in 1816, it was moved to Nizhny Novgorod, but for some decades thereafter it still was commonly referred to as Makariev Fair. It attracted many foreign merchants from India, Iran, and Central Asia. This fair was a commerce centre to sell up to half the total production of export goods in Russia.

Krasnoye Sormovo Factory No. 112 named after Andrei Zhdanov (Russian: Судостроительное предприятие "Кра́сное Со́рмово" имени А. А. Жданова) was one of the oldest shipbuilding factories in the Soviet Union, located in the Sormovsky City District of Nizhny Novgorod (the city was called Gorky in 1932–90).

Sormovo (airfield)
Sormovo (or Gorkiy Sormovo) is an airfield in Russia, located on the outskirts of Nizhny Novgorod, some 8 km from the center city, just west of the Sokol Aircraft Plant. Legally, it is within the city's Moskovsky District, but it is commonly referred to by the name of the much better-known neighborhood of Sormovo, which is to the north of the airfield. Moreover, between 1956 and 1970 the airfield (and all of today's Moskovsky District) was in fact part of the Sormovsky District.
Sormovsky City District
Sormovsky District, or Sormovo, is one of the eight districts of the city of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It occupies the northwestern corner of the city, adjacent to the Volga River. Population: 168,761; 177,940; 185,994. The village originally known as Soromovo (Соромово) had existed since 1542. In 1849, the Sormovo Works—soon one of Russia's most important machine-building plants, later known as Krasnoye Sormovo—was founded; its owner had the village renamed to more euphonic Sormovo.
Konovalenko Sports Palace
Konovalenko Sports Palace is an indoor sporting arena located in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 4,300 and opened in 1967. It was the home arena of the Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod ice hockey team of the Russian Super League until the Trade Union Sport Palace opened in 2007.

Trade Union Sport Palace is an indoor sporting arena located in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 5,500 after the repair in 2007. It is the home arena of the Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod ice hockey team of the Kontinental Hockey League. The arena replaced Konovalenko Sports Palace as the home of the club.
