Bucura Lake
Lake Bucura is a glacier cirque lake, situated in the Retezat Mountains, in Romania. It is located south of the main ridge, at the base of Peleaga Peak, and at an altitude of about 2,040 m. It is the largest glacier lake in Romania, having an area of over 89,000 square metres. It is 550 m in length, 160 m in width on average, and 225 m maximum width, for a perimeter of 1,390 m. The maximum depth is 15.5 m, and the volume 625,000 m³.
Păpuşa
The Retezat Mountains are some of the highest massifs in Romania, being part of the Southern Carpathians. One of the important peaks is Păpuşa (Varful Păpuşa), with a height of 2,508 metres . The Retezat Mountains have many glacial lakes, including the largest one in Romania, Bucura Lake (lacul Bucura), which covers 8.9 hectares and is situated at an altitude of 2,030 metres . The area also contains the Retezat National Park, Romania's first national park.
Râul Mare Hydroelectric Power Station
Râul Mare Hydro Power Plant is a large power plant on Râul Mare River, a river situated in Romania. The project was started and finished in the 1980s and it was made up by the construction of a rockfill with a clay core dam 168 m high which was equipped with two hydrounits, the hydropower plant having an installed capacity of 335 MW. The power plant generates 650 GWh of electricity per year.

Sarmizegetusa (commune)
Sarmizegetusa (colloquially and until 1941 officially Grădişte; Hungarian: Várhely) is a commune in Ţara Haţegului depression, Hunedoara County, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Breazova (Brázova), Hobiţa-Grădişte (Hobicavárhely), Păucineşti (Paucsinesd), Sarmizegetusa and Zeicani (Zajkány). Built atop the ruins of the capital of Roman Dacia, Ulpia Traiana, it is some 40 km from the capital of the Dacian kingdom, Sarmizegetusa Regia.
General Berthelot
General Berthelot (Fărcădinul de Jos until 1923, Berthelot between 1923 and 1965, Unirea between 1965 and 2001; Hungarian: Alsófarkadin; German: Unterwolfsdorf) is a commune in Hunedoara County, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Crăguiş, Fărcădin, General Berthelot, Livezi and Tuştea.
Densuș
Densuș is a commune in Hunedoara County, Romania and the site of Densuș Church. It is composed of seven villages: Criva, Densuș, Hățăgel (Hacazsel), Peșteana (Nagypestény), Peștenița (Kispestény), Poieni (Pojény) and Ștei (Stejvaspatak). Densuș was the property of the Romanian noble family Demsușan Mugina, later magyarised under the name of Demsusi Muzsina. One of the descendants of this family, Elisabeta de Margina, married the famous Ioan Corvin, better known as Iancu de Hunedoara.

Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa
Colonia Ulpia Traiana Augusta Dacica Sarmizegetusa was the capital and the largest city of Roman Dacia, later named Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa after the former Dacian capital, located some 40 km away. Built on the ground of a camp of the Fifth Macedonian Legion, the city was settled by veterans of the Dacian wars. From the very beginning it received the title of colonia and the status of ius Italicum.

The Haţeg Country is a territory that hosts probably the richest cultural patrimony of Romania. Here are found some of the oldest churches from North of Danube River, the largest concentration of medieval sites and monuments in Romania and a big number of architectural monuments, all included in the National Patrimony.
