Cotroceni is a neighbourhood in western Bucharest, Romania located around the Cotroceni hill, in Bucharest's Sector 5.
Cotroceni Palace
Cotroceni Palace is a palace in Bucharest which is the residence of the President of Romania, located at Bulevardul Geniului, nr. 1. On Cotroceni Hill, in 1679, Şerban Cantacuzino built a monastery. This was the place where a palace was built by French architect Paul Gottereau for King Carol I of the Romanians in 1888. In 1977, Nicolae Ceauşescu made the palace a guest house, and the old church of Cantacuzino was demolished in 1985.

Măgurele
Măgurele is a town situated in the southwestern part of Ilfov County, Romania. Its population is 9,200. Four villages are administered by the town: Alunişu, Dumitrana, Pruni and Vârteju. The town hosts a nuclear research lab, the Institute of Atomic Physics (Romanian: Institutul de Fizicǎ Atomicǎ) and its National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering. Between 1957 and 1998, it had a Soviet VVRS research reactor, now closed down.
Rahova
Rahova is a neighbourhood of southwest Bucharest, Romania, situated in Sector 5, west of Dâmboviţa River. It is named after the Bulgarian town Rahovo, site of a battle in the Romanian War of Independence. The neighborhood stretches from between Antiaeriană and Drumul Sării Avenues to Panduri Square (in the west), Panduri and 13 Septembrie Streets in the north, George Cosbuc Avenue, Viilor and Sălaj Streets in the east and Bucharest City Limits in the South.

The first botanical garden in Bucharest was founded in 1860 near the Medicine Faculty by Carol Davila.

Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a state-run health sciences University in Bucharest, Romania. It is the largest institution of its kind in Romania with over 2.865 employees, 1.654 teachers and over 4.800 students. The University is using the facilities of over 20 clinical hospitals all over Bucharest. It was initially established in 1857 under the name National School of Medicine and Pharmacy by the French expatriate physician, Carol Davila.

St. Elefterie Church (Romanian: Biserica Sf. Elefterie) is a church near the Opera House in Bucharest, Romania. It is located at 1 Saint Elefterie Street and was designed by the architect Constantin Iotzu. This is the new Church, as there is an older church by the same name nearby. It was named after the Saint Eleftherios.
Ștefan Gheorghiu Academy
The Ştefan Gheorghiu Academy was a university created and used by the Romanian Communist Party (PCR) for training its cadres for executive and agitprop-related functions. It was established as Universitatea Muncitorească a PCR (PCR Workers' University) and began functioning on March 21, 1945 in Bucharest, apparently on Ana Pauker's initiative. Its first leaders were rector Barbu Lăzăreanu, a literature professor, and secretary Constantin Ionescu-Gulian, a Stalinist philosopher.
Bucharest Ring
The Bucharest Ring is a street circuit in the Romanian capital city of Bucharest. Designed by famed track designer Hermann Tilke, the circuit is in the city centre, and has the Palace of the Parliament in its infield. It was announced in September 2010 that the circuit will host a round of the Auto GP championship in July 2011, with the event becoming known as the Bucharest GP.

Venus Stadium was a multi-use stadium in Bucharest. It was the home ground of Venus Bucharest. It held 15,000 people. Venus arena was inaugurated in 1931 as a field dedicated only to football. One of the oldest and most truthful leaders of the club, Alexandru Eladescu, sold a forest, private property, to obtain the necessary money to build the stadium. It held five Romanian Cup finals and one Romania match on May 18, 1939, against Latvia finished 4-0.
