Bucharest
Bucharest is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial, and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:44|25|57|N|26|06|14|E|scale:100000 |primary |name= }}, lies on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 70 kilometres north of the Danube. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents in 1459.
Jewish Museum (Bucharest)
The Jewish Museum in Bucharest, Romania is located in the former Templul Unirea Sfântă (United Holy Temple) synagogue, which survived both World War II and Nicolae Ceauşescu unscathed. The name has several variants, including Museum of the History of the Romanian Jewish Community. Unirea Shopping Center
Unirea Shopping Center is a large shopping centre located in Unirii Square, Bucharest, Romania. Opened in 1976 and enlarged in 1989, it was the largest department store in Communist Romania. Converted, in 1990's, into a shopping centre, the complex has a total area of 83,971 square metres and 1000 parking spaces. The closest metro station to the center is Piaţa Unirii metro station.
Turnul Colței
Turnul Colţei (also Turnul Colţea or Colţii) was a tower located in Bucharest, Wallachia, now in Romania. Having a height of 50 metres, it was the highest building in the city for more than a century. Its initial purpose was to be used as a bell tower — its 1,700 kg bell, was moved to the Sinaia Monastery after the tower was demolished. Its was also meant to serve as a watch tower. The tower was named after Vornic Colţea Doicescu.
Hanul cu Tei
Hanul cu Tei is one of the few still standing old inns in central Bucharest, Romania. It was built in 1833 by Anastasie Hagi Gheorghe Polizu and Ştefan Popovici, on the trading street of Lipscani. It was also called the Bezesten de pe Uliţa cea mare a Marchitanilor ("The Inn on the Wide Street of the Merchants"). It is the only historic inn in Bucharest that has preserved its shape exactly as it was at its origins.

Piața Rosetti
Piața Rosetti is a small square in Sector 2 of Bucharest, 250 metres from Piaţa Universităţii. It is named after former mayor, politician, and 1848 revolutionary C. A. Rosetti. The square was designed as part of the modernization efforts of mayor Pache Protopopescu in 1888. A statue of Rosetti adorns the square.
Great Synagogue (Bucharest)
The Great Synagogue was raised in 1845 by the Polish-Jewish community. It was repaired in 1865, redesigned in 1903 and 1909, repainted in Rococo style in 1936 by Ghershon Horowitz, then it was restored again in 1945, as it had been devastated by the extreme right Legionaries. Templul Coral
The Choral Temple (Ro. Templul Coral) is a synagogue located in Bucharest, Romania. It is a copy of Vienna's Leopoldstadt-Tempelgasse Great Synagogue, which was raised in 1855-1858. It was designed by Enderle and Freiwald and built between 1857 - 1867. The synagogue was devastated by the extreme right Legionaries, but was then restored after World War II, in 1945. It still hosts religious services, being one of the still active synagogues in the city and in Romania.
Bucharest-Ilfov (development region)
The Bucharest-Ilfov development region is a development region in Romania, encompassing the national capital, Bucharest, as well as the surrounding Ilfov County. As other development regions, it does not have any administrative powers, its main function being to co-ordinate regional development projects and manage funds from the European Union. It is also used as an entity in regional statistical analysis at the European Union NUTS-II level.
