Luboń
Luboń is a town situated on the Warta River, in the Poznań metro area, in the Greater Poland Voivodeship (since 1999). It was previously in the Poznań Voivodeship (1975-1998). It has 29,301 inhabitants (2010). The neighbourhood of Żabikowo (former German Zabikowo, called Poggenburg by the Nazis) in the north-west of Luboń was the site of a Nazi prison camp in 1943–1945, which replaced the Fort VII camp in western Poznań.

Poznań 1956 protests
The Poznań 1956 protests, also known as Poznań 1956 uprising or Poznań June, were the first of several massive protests of the Polish people against the communist dictatorial government of the People's Republic of Poland. Demonstrations by workers demanding better conditions began on June 28, 1956, at Poznań's Cegielski Factories and were met with violent repression. A crowd of approximately 100,000 gathered in the city center near the UB secret police building.

Fort VII
Fort VII, officially Konzentrationslager Posen (later renamed), was a Nazi concentration camp set up in Poznań in occupied Poland during World War II, located in one of the 19th-century forts which ringed the city. According to different estimates, between 4,500 and 20,000 people, mostly Poles from Poznań and the surrounding region, died while imprisoned at the camp.
