TVP Katowice (tower)
TVP Katowice Tower is a 90 meter high reinforced concrete telecommunication tower in Katowice, Poland. It is the property of TP EMITEL, and is not accessible by tourists. It started broadcasdting in 1957. TVP 3 Katowice at 6 October 2007 changed name on TVP KATOWICE
Katowice Trade Hall roof collapse
On 28 January 2006, the roof of one of the buildings at Katowice International Fair (Międzynarodowe Targi Katowickie) collapsed in Chorzów / Katowice, Poland. At 16:15 GMT, the central section of the roof of the hall collapsed, possibly due to the weight of snow on the building. According to the police there were roughly 700 people in the hall at the time of the collapse. A further collapse occurred 90 minutes later during rescue operations.

Silesian Zoological Garden (Polish: Śląski Ogród Zoologiczny) is a zoological garden in Poland. It was founded in 1954 and is situated in the Katowice and Chorzów districts of Silesia. It covers over 47.6 ha within the Silesian Central Park. The Silesian zoo is a home for about 2 500 animals of 300 species. It is visited by over 390 000 people annually. Stadion GKS Katowice is a football stadium at Silesian Culture and Recreation Park in Chorzów (just at the border with Katowice), Poland. It is the home ground of GKS Katowice. The stadium also hosted three matches of Poland national football team. Venue holds 6,710 people and was built in 1955. There is a planned full reconstruction of a stadium that will take place in near future.
