Gdańsk University of Technology
The Gdańsk University of Technology is a technical university in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz, and one of the oldest universities in Poland. It has nine faculties and more than 24 thousand undergraduate, as well as about 400 doctoral students. In 2004 it employed 2500 people, including 1200 academics. The rector of the university is Henryk Krawczyk. In 1995 Wirtualna Polska was founded there and the office of the company is still located in one of the former campus canteens.

Baltic State Opera
Baltic State Opera is an opera company located in Gdańsk, Poland. It began in February 1949 as the Music and Drama Studio set up by Iwo Gall. In autumn 1949, the Opera Studio of the Baltic Philharmonic was founded. In 1953, they were united under the name of Baltic State Opera and Philharmonic. In 1993, after the institution had been divided, the Baltic Opera emerged. In 2008, Marek Weiss became the director and steered the institution in a new direction.
