10th-Anniversary Stadium

10th-Anniversary Stadium, opened in 1955, was for decades the largest stadium in Warsaw, and one of the largest in Poland. Under the Polish People's Republic, it was one of the most advertised construction sites and a principal venue for Party and state festivities. In the 1980s the stadium became dilapidated, as no funds could be found to refurbish it.

Torwar Hall

Torwar Hall is an indoor arena in Warsaw, Poland. It opened in 1953, was modernized in 1999, and holds 4,838 people. It is located adjacent to Legia Stadium and is primarily used for popular music concerts, ice hockey and other indoor sports, and it is the home of the hockey team UHKS Mazowsze. Torwar Hall hosted the 2001 Saporta Cup final in which Maroussi BC defeated Elan Sportif Chalonnais. On January 22–28, 2007 the Hall hosted the 2007 European Figure Skating Championships.

Siekierkowski Bridge is a bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw, Poland, connecting the Mokotów and Wawer districts. It is a cable-stayed bridge, 500 m long and 33.38 m wide, with three lanes for vehicles, a pavement and a cycle path each way. The structure is supported by two H-pylons, 87.07 m high. When the bridge was opened on 21 September 2002 it was the newest and southernmost of Warsaw's bridges.

Wawer massacre

The Wawer massacre refers to the execution of 107 Polish civilians on the night of 26 to 27 December 1939 by the Nazi German occupiers of Wawer, Poland. The execution was a response to the deaths of two German NCOs. 120 people were arrested and 114 shot, of which 7 survived. It is considered to be one of the first large scale massacres of Polish civilians by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland.
