University of the Philippines Los Baños
The University of the Philippines Los Baños (also referred to as UPLB, UP Los Baños, and Elbi) is a public university located in the towns of Los Baños and Bay in the province of Laguna, some 64 kilometers southeast of Manila. It traces its roots to the UP College of Agriculture (UPCA), which was founded in 1909 by the American colonial government to promote agricultural education and research in the Philippines. American botanist Edwin Copeland served as its first dean.

The San Cristobal River is a river system in the cities of Calamba and Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines. It is one of 21 major tributaries of Laguna de Bay. The School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM) is one of the eleven degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños (UPLB). It was created in 1977 in response to calls for a multidisciplinary effort to address environmental degradation amid economic development. Then known as the Program on Environmental Science and Management, it was lodged under the Office of the Chancellor with initial funding support from the Ford Foundation.

Lake Sampaloc
Lake Sampaloc is an inactive volcanic maar on the island of Luzon, the Philippines. It is the largest of the Seven Lakes of San Pablo, Laguna. Nearly half of the lake's depth has a shallow depression at the lake's bottom, indicating its volcanic origin. The lake is located behind San Pablo city hall and is dotted with fishpens and small cottages built on stilts.

Lake Bunot is one of the Seven Lakes of San Pablo, Laguna. It is located in Brgy. Concepcion, San Pablo City. Only 4.5 km from the city proper, Bunot is known for its cultured tilapia and fishpens for Nilotica fingerlings. Bunot has a normal surface area of 30.5 hectares with a maximum depth of 23 meter. Bunot is a convenient site for picnics. It is a real haven for nature lovers. Ideal for swimming and relaxation.

Lake Palakpakin is one of the Seven Lakes of San Pablo in Laguna, Philippines. Palakpakin is located in Brgy. San Buenaventura, San Pablo City. With an area of 43 hectares, it has a maximum depth of 7.5 meters. Residents around the lake rely on income from fishpens and fishcages that grow cultured tilapia and silver carps.

Calibato has an area of 42 hectares and maximum depth of 135 meters. Calibato's maximum water capacity is approximately 29,600 cubic meters. Its supplies the city and nearby towns with abundant fish and aquatic plants.
