The Lamas Province is one of ten provinces of the San Martín Region in northern Peru.

Lamas is the capital of the Lamas Province, situated in the San Martín Region of northern Peru. There are 16 871 inhabitants, according to the 2007 census. In 2005 a deep earthquake shake Lamas, killed 5 people, 174 injured and hundreds homeless. Lamas registers in their history to have been conquered twice.
