Geography of Palau
The Republic of Palau consists of eight principal islands and more than 250 smaller ones lying roughly 500 miles southeast of the Philippines. The islands of Palau constitute part of the Caroline Islands chain.
Babeldaob
Babeldaob (also Babelthuap) is the largest island in the island nation of Palau. Its area, 331 km² (128 mi²), makes up over 70% of the area of the entire country, and about 30% of the population, with about 6,000 people living there. Babeldoab is one of the most undeveloped populated islands in the Pacific.
Ngeremlengui
Ngeremlengui is one of Palau's sixteen states. It has a population of about 317 (according to the 2005 census) people and is just west of Melekeok state, where Palau's capital village is (also called Melekeok). The capital of the state of Ngeremlengui is Imeong. Ngeremlengui is on the western side of Babeldaob, which is the largest Island in Palau.
