Landhi
Landhi is one of the neighbourhoods of Landhi Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. There are several ethnic groups in Landhi including Muhajirs, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras, Ismailis, etc. Over 99% of the population is Muslim. The population of Landhi Town is estimated to be nearly one million. Landhi is located in the eastern part of Karachi, nestled between Malir Town and Korangi Town. The area is divided into 6 sections, namely Landhi 1-6.
Landhi Town
Landhi Town is a large industrial town in the eastern part of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is bordered by the Faisal Cantonment and Shah Faisal Town to the north across the Malir River, Bin Qasim Town to the south and east, and Korangi Town to the west. The population of Landhi Town was estimated to be over 660,000 at the 1998 census, of which 99% are Muslim. Sindhis and Pashtuns constitute an overwhelming majority of the population, followed by Muhajirs and Baloch.
Saudabad
Saudabad is one of the neighbourhoods of Malir Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Areas which are included in this UC are: from Laal Masjid, Liaquat Market Road - H Area, Jinnah Square, Urdu Nagar, C-Area, D1, D2, D3 & D4 areas, S1, S2 & S3 areas till Saudabad Chowrangi, which is reconstructed and renovated by the orders of City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, The Great wholesale Tanki market where peoples from all the UCs of Malir Town come to shop Specially from neghbouring Model Colony, RCD ground etc.
Chaukhandi tombs
The Chaukhandi tombs are situated 29 km east of Karachi on N-5 National Highway near Landhi Town in Pakistan. The Chaukhandi tombs are remarkable for the elaborate and exquisite stone carving. The style of architecture is typical only to the region of Sindh, and unique in that it is found nowhere else in the Islamic world.
Malir River Bridge
The Malir River Bridge is to date Pakistan's largest bridge which spans 5,000 metres . This bridge was inaugurated by Governor of Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ibad on Wednesday 4 February 2009. The cost of the bridge is PKR 1.2 billion or USD 14 million funded by the Government of Pakistan. The bridge has shortened the distance by 28 kilometres for the residents of Korangi, Landhi and Shah Faisal towns. To enable construction 42 houses were demolished and the owners were compensated by the government.
Hussainabad, Karachi
Hussainabad is one of the neighbourhoods of Malir Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. In Hussainabad the majority of people belongs to Shia Islam and various majalis (congregations) are organized through the Imambargah Darbaray Hussaini. The main mosque is Hussaini Jama Masjid and Imambargah Darbaray Hussaini Hussainabad Malir Colony Karachi. The population of Malir Town is estimated to be nearly one million.
Landhi railway station
Landhi Railway Station is the third important and second busiest railway station of Karachi, Pakistan. It is situated near Quaidabad in Landhi. Some up and all down express trains have stop here. In past it was the junction for Landhi-Korangi railway line. It was also the terminus station of Karachi City-Landhi KCR trains from 1969 to 1999. It has facilities like Booking office, Sheds, Drinking water, Tuck shops, Bathrooms, and Parking lot.
