Quaid-i-Azam University
The Quaid-i-Azam University is a public, research university in Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. It offers undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. It is located over a area of 1700 acres below the Margalla Hills. It was founded as the University of Islamabad in July 1967. The university is rated as the top public institution of higher education in Pakistan. It is ranked as the best university overall Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Pir Sohawa
Pir Sohawa is a rapidly developing tourist resort located on top of Margalla Hills and 45-minutes drive from downtown Islamabad. It has a 3000 plus ft elevation and located in Monal village which is geographically part of Haripur District. Pir Sohawa is a popular destination among the residents of Islamabad, as well as the foreign tourists. On 6th January 2012, after almost six years, Pir Sohawa, the city’s highest tourist spot, received few inches of snowfall.

Margalla Hills
The Margalla Hills — also called the Margalla Mountain Range, is a hill range part of the lesser Himalayas located north of Islamabad, Pakistan. Margalla Range has an area of 12,605 hectares. The hills are a part of Murree hills. It is a range with many valleys as well as high mountains. The hill range nestles between an elevation of 685 meters at the western end and 1,604 meters on its east with average height of 1000 meters. Its highest peak is Tilla Charouni.
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is the only international standard cricket stadium in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. This stadium has recently been expanded to cater for the ever increasing number of spectators for the game. With the increase in capacity, it can now hold around 25,000 spectators. The stadium hosted its first Test match in 1993.

Rawal lake
Rawal Lake in Pakistan is an artificial reservoir that provides the water needs for the cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Korang River along with some other small streams coming from Margalla Hills have been set to form this artificial lake which covers an area of 8.8 km². Korang River is the outlet stream of Rawal Dam. Rawal Lake is located within an isolated section of the Margalla Hills National Park.

After a competition among many renowned architects, Arif Masood’s plan was selected for the final design. The blooming flower shape of the monument represents Pakistan's progress as a rapidly developing country. The four main petals of the monument represent the four provinces, while the three smaller petals represent the three territories.

2008 Danish embassy bombing in Islamabad
The 2008 Danish embassy bombing was an attack on the Danish embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan on 2 June 2008. The suspected suicide car bombing in the parking lot of the embassy took place at around 12:10 pm, killing at least five and wounding many more. The Danish national security intelligence agency PET has concluded that al-Qaida was behind the attack. Al-Qaida claimed responsibility for the attack on 5 June 2008.

Islamabad Zoo, previously Marghazar Zoo, is an 82-acre zoo in Islamabad Capital Territory. It was opened in 1978, and is under the administration of Capital Development Authority of Pakistan.
Airblue Flight 202
Airblue Flight 202 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight which crashed on 28 July 2010 near Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, killing all 146 passengers and six crew on board. It is the deadliest air accident to occur in Pakistan to date. The aircraft, an Airblue operated Airbus A321-231 narrow-body jet airliner, crashed in the Margalla Hills north of Islamabad during a flight from Karachi's Jinnah International Airport to Benazir Bhutto International Airport.

Liaquat Gymnasium is an indoor sporting arena located in Islamabad, Pakistan. The capacity of the arena is 10,223 spectators. It hosts indoor sporting events such as basketball, badminton, and boxing.

Zero Point Interchange
Zero Point Interchange is a cloverleaf interchange built at the intersection of Islamabad Highway, Kashmir Highway and Khayaban-e-Suharwardy, named after the name for this intersection. The project is designed by Engineering Consultant Int. (Pvt. )Ltd. The construction work started on 11 September 2008. The interchange was formally inaugurated in July 2011 by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani, though construction work on a loop was still in progress.
Malpur Village, Islamabad
Malpur is one of the oldest village in Islamabad located off the Murree Road with views of Margalla Hills and Rawal Lake. In 2009 Capital Development Authority announced that it plans to make Malpur a model village. The project would also accommodate the local residents of the area in a planned and well-organized manner. Capital Development Authority announced as well that a big piece of land in Malpur was in the control of the Ministry of Environment, where a forestry park would be developed.
Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences
Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is a leading health sciences institute in Islamabad. It was established in 1985. Apart from general health facilitation the institute also imparts medical training to nurses and doctors.
F-6, Islamabad
F-6 or Shalimar-6 is a residential sector in Islamabad. The sector was initially planned to lodge government employees after the capital of Pakistan was shifted from Karachi to Islamabad.

Center for Earthquake Studies
