Quetta District
Quetta is a district in the north-west of Balochistan province of Pakistan. It was part of Quetta Division until the year 2000 when divisions were abolished. The district is famous for its agriculture produce, most notably fruit orchards but also including apples and grapes. The Hanna Valley is an area where almonds are grown. Hazara Town is a lower- to middle-income area on the western outskirts of Quetta, Pakistan with a population of up to 70,000, of which an approximately three-quarters are Hazara people with minority Baloch and Pathan tribes on southern section of Hazara Town. Hazara Town, like the twin suburb of Mehr Abad, was populated by Hazara over the course of 19th and 20th century due to the persecution of Hazara people by Afghan rulers in their ancestral homeland Hazaristan in central Afghanistan.
