University of Tromsø
The University of Tromsø is the world's northernmost university. Located in the city of Tromsø, Norway, it was established in 1968, and opened in 1972. It is one of eight universities in Norway. The University of Tromsø is the largest research and educational institution in northern Norway. The University's location makes it a natural venue for the development of studies of the region's natural environment, culture, and society.
Norwegian College of Fishery Science
The Norwegian College of Fishery Science was established in 1972 as a joint responsibility of the three Norwegian universities in Tromsø, Bergen and Trondheim. The Arctic Cathedral, formally known as Tromsdalen Church or Tromsøysund Church (Norwegian: Tromsdalen kirke or Tromsøysund kirke), is a church in the city of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. The church is commonly nicknamed the Ishavskatedralen, literally "The Cathedral of the Arctic Sea" or "Arctic Cathedral". The church was built in 1965 in the Tromsdalen valley and it is a parish church and not, in fact, a cathedral as it is commonly called.

Arctic-alpine Botanic Garden
The Arctic-alpine Botanic Garden (Arktisk alpin Botanisk hage) is the world's northernmost botanic garden. It is located in Tromsø, Norway, and is run by the Tromsø University Museum. It opened in 1994, and is open from late May to early October. The garden displays Arctic and alpine plants from all over the northern hemisphere. Entrance is free of charge. The garden is located to the southeast of the University of Tromsø Campus, commanding a view of the mountains to the east and south.
Tromsøysund Tunnel
The Tromsøysund Tunnel is an undersea highway tunnel under the Tromsøysundet strait, connecting the island of Tromsøya with the mainland in the city of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. The tunnel is part of European route E08, (whose northern terminus is on the island itself) and it consists of 2 tubes, each with two driving lanes. The two tubes are not equal in length; one tube is 3,500-metre long and the other is 3,386-metre long.
Tromsøysundet
Tromsøysundet is a strait located in the municipality of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. It separates the island of Tromsøya (the location of the Tromsø city centre) from the mainland east of the island. The strait is crossed by the Tromsøysund Tunnel and the Tromsø Bridge. The strait is about 11 kilometres long and it ranges from about 600 metres to 3 kilometres wide. The strait connects to the Balsfjorden and Straumsfjorden to the south and into the Kvalsundet and Grøtsundet to the north.
