Tromsø Region
Tromsø Region is a region in Troms county, Norway. It is centered around the city of Tromsø and consists of only two municipalities: Tromsø and Karlsøy . The European route E8 passes through the region, and the Tromsø Airport is also located here.
Norwegian Polar Institute
The Norwegian Polar Institute is Norway's national institution for polar research. It is run under the auspices of the Norwegian Ministry of Environment. The institute organizes expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic regions and runs a research station at Ny-Ålesund. Its offices are in Tromsø and Svalbard, together with a research station in Queen Maud Land, and employs approximately 150 persons.
Sydspissen concentration camp
Sydspissen concentration camp, in Tromsø municipality, Troms, Norway. It was built with slave labor in the summer of 1941 to serve as the primary camp for prisoners in Northern Norway during the Nazi occupation of Norway. The camp ended up being too small for the influx of prisoners and was later moved across the sound to Krøkebærsletta. After the war it was used for prisoners with relations to the succumbed Nazi rule.

The reason for its fame is that the pub hosted the television program Du Skal Høre Mye, a program that ran on NRK for 16 seasons from 1987, showing guests (celebrities and commoners) telling stories and jokes.
Tromsø Cathedral
Tromsø Cathedral is a cathedral in the city of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. The cathedral is part of the Tromsø domkirke parish in the Tromsø arch-deanery and it is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland in the Church of Norway. This cathedral is notable since it is the only Norwegian cathedral made of wood. The church is built in Gothic revival style, with the church tower and main entrance on the west front. It is probably the northernmost Protestant cathedral in the world.

Kongsbakken Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Kongsbakken videregående skole) is an upper secondary school in Tromsø, Norway. In the year 2000, Kongsbakken videregående skole had approximately 650 pupils, with about as many boys as girls. The school administration consists of a headmaster, a deputy headmaster, six section leaders and an office staff of four. Additionally, the school has two janitors and a librarian. Approximately 80 teachers provide education at Kongsbakken.
