Sandnes Station is a railway station located in the southern part of downtown Sandnes in Rogaland, Norway. The station is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail between Stavanger and Egersund. The station is 15.36 kilometres south of Stavanger. The station was the central station for Sandnes between 1955 and 1996, but was then replaced by a rebuilt Sandnes Sentrum Station.
Ganddal Station
Ganddal Station is a railway station located just south of Sandnes in Rogaland, Norway on the Sørlandet Line. The station is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail between Stavanger and Egersund. The station is 18.49 kilometers south of Stavanger. The Ålgård Line parted from the Sørlandet Line at Ganddal, but passenger traffic was terminated in 1955, and freight traffic in 1988.
Sandnes Idrettspark
Sandnes Idrettspark is a multi-purpose stadium in Sandnes, Rogaland, Norway. It is currently used mostly for track and field meets and football matches, and is the home ground of Sandnes Ulf. The stadium's capacity is 3850 (2260 seats). The venue hosted the Norwegian Athletics Championships in 1986, 2002 and 2010. In August 2009, a new floodlight system with a capacity of 1,400 lux was installed.
Stokka
Stokka is a suburb of Lura, Sandnes, Norway. Stokka is bordered on the south by Bærheim and Soma, to the east by Lura, to the north by Forus, Stavanger, and to the west by Sola municipality. Large parts of the area are industrialised, with the area north of Løwenstrasse used as the headquarters of Forus Næringspark. Stokka is linked to the north with the Forus canal, to the east by E39, to the south to Soma and to the west with Sola.
Forus
Forus is an industrial district in the borough Hinna in Stavanger, Norway. It borders to the Gandsfjord and stretches south and west to the municipalities Sandnes and Sola. The name Forus originates from a farm, part of which is currently used for harness racing. The drainage of the former Stokkavatnet (4 km²) with surrounding march area, from 1906 and onwards, gave 4.5 km² new land for the nearby farms.
