Hedmark Museum

The Hedmark Museum (Hedmarksmuseet og Domkirkeodden in Norwegian) in Hamar, Norway is a regional museum for the municipalities of Stange, Hamar (which now includes Vang i Hedmark), Løten, and Ringsaker in central eastern Norway. Norwegian Railway Museum

The Norwegian Railway Museum is the national railway museum in Norway. Museum headquarters, administration offices and main exhibition hall are situated in the city of Hamar. The museum is operated by the Norwegian National Rail Administration.

Cathedral Ruins in Hamar

For the current cathedral in Hamar, see Hamar cathedral. Hamar Cathedral was the see of the Ancient Diocese of Hamar. The diocese at Hamar had included much of the (modern) counties of Hedmark, Oppland, and Buskerud. Bishop Arnaldur (1124-52) returned to Norway in 1150 from Gardar, Greenland and was appointed first Bishop of Hamar. He began to build the cathedral, which was completed about the time of Bishop Paul (1232-52).

Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre

Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre (Norwegian: Hamar OL-Amfi or Hamar Olympiske Amfi), officially known as Nordlyshallen ("The Northern Light Hall") is an indoor sports arena in Hamar, Norway. It is mostly used for ice hockey, but is also used for short track speed skating, figure skating, handball, events and concerts. The venue has a capacity for 6,091 spectators and was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it was used for short track speed skating and figure skating.

Hamar Station

Hamar Station is a railway station located in downtown Hamar, Norway, on the Dovre Line and the Røros Line. The station was opened in 1862 with the construction of the narrow gauge railway between Hamar and Eidsvoll. It is located 126.26 kilometers from Oslo Central Station and at 127.0 meters above mean sea level. Hamar is served by express trains to Trondheim and of the hourly regional trains to Lillehammer, Oslo and Vestfold/Grenland.

Hamar Airport, Stafsberg

Hamar Airport, Stafsberg (Norwegian: Hamar flyplass, Stafsberg) is located at Stafsberg, just north of the town of Hamar in Norway, and was opened on 17 November 1950. At that time the airport was located at the border point between the municipalities of Hamar, Furnes and Vang. It had scheduled services by Braathens SAFE from 16 May 1956 to 1959 using de Havilland Herons. The route was a landing on the Oslo–Trondheim service.

Founded in 1153 as Schola cathedralis hamarensis, it is the second oldest school in Norway together with Bergen katedralskole and Oslo katedralskole, which were founded the same year, one year after the founding of Trondheim katedralskole.
