Spikkestad
Spikkestad is a population center in the Røyken municipality in Norway. It is located in the northern part of the Hurum Peninsula, closer to the Drammen Fjord than the Oslo Fjord. Spikkestad railway station was opened in 1885 to link Asker to Drammen. The village was named after the farm "Spikkestad", as the station was built on its lands. In the early 1970s, a tunnel was built which made the trip between these places shorter, and most of the train track was closed.
Gullaug
Gullaug is an unincorporated village located between Lierbyen, Røyken and Drammen, in Buskerud County, Norway. It is southwest of Oslo, about 40 km away near the eastern coast. Geographically, Gullaug is an area that encompasses little more than a gas station and local shops, but locals apply the label to the entire area stretching from Lierkroa in the north, Lahell in the south, Amtmandsvingen in the east and Spikkestad in the west. This is the area that is served by the Gullaug school.
Drammensfjord
Drammensfjord is a fjord in Norway that connects to Ytre Oslofjord on the west side. It stretches to the north and northeast. The Drammenselva river discharges into the head of the fjord. The municipality and city of Drammen which is named after the fjord is also found there. The majority of the fjord is within the county of Buskerud, but in the west and southwest it lies in Vestfold county.
Hyggen
Hyggen is a village in Røyken municipality, Norway. It is located along the Drammensfjord. Its population is 430. According to the book ”Røyken Bygd – før og nu” (Røyken County - Before and now) published in 1928, Professor Rygh assumes it was named after a small stream of water called Heggja or rather Hegg. Since there are no trace of the water stream it is more reasonable to assume that the name Hyggen is a combination of the word “vin” (wine) and a type of tree named Hegg or Heggr.
