Hutt Valley
The Hutt Valley is the large area of fairly flat land in the Hutt River valley in the Wellington region of New Zealand. Like the river that flows through it, it takes its name from Sir William Hutt, a director of the New Zealand Company in early colonial New Zealand. The river flows roughly along the course of an active geologic fault, which continues to the south to become the main instrument responsible for the uplift of the South Island's Southern Alps.
Barton's Bush
Barton's Bush, in Trentham Memorial Park, is the largest remaining area of lowland mixed podocarp/broadleaf forest in the Hutt Valley of New Zealand. Named after Richard Barton who settled in the area in 1841, it was his desire that this section of the native forest should remain whilst the city of Upper Hutt gradually took shape and land was cleared for farming and settling.
HVDC Inter-Island
The HVDC Inter-Island link is a high-capacity, bipolar high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system connecting the electricity networks of the North and South Islands of New Zealand together. It is commonly referred to as the Cook Strait cable, which is somewhat of a misnomer, because only a short section of the complete link is in cable, and there are actually three operational HVDC power cables across Cook Strait.
Silverstream
Silverstream is a suburb of Upper Hutt in the lower North Island of New Zealand. It is at the southern end of the city close to the Taita Gorge, which separates Upper Hutt from Lower Hutt. Silverstream is sited at the mouth of a small valley formed by the Wellington Regions notable techonic activity and, in part, by Hull's Creek, which discharges into the Hutt River. Educational facilities in Silverstream include Silverstream Kindergarten, Silverstream School and St. Patrick's College.

Naenae
Naenae is a suburb of the city of Lower Hutt in the North Island of New Zealand. It lies on the eastern edge of the floodplain of the Hutt River, four kilometres from the Lower Hutt Central business district. A small tributary of the Hutt, the Waiwhetu Stream, flows through the suburb. Naenae has a population of around 8,000 people. Stokes Valley
Stokes Valley is a major suburb of Lower Hutt, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located at the northeastern edge of the city seven kilometres northeast of the city centre, in the valley of a small tributary of the Hutt River, called Stokes Valley stream which flows north to meet the main river close to the Taita Gorge. Stokes Valley was named after Robert Stokes who formed part of the original survey team of 1840 commissioned to plan the city at Thorndon in Wellington.

St Patrick's College is an Integrated Catholic boys' day and boarding Secondary School located in Silverstream, Upper Hutt, New Zealand. It was established by the Society of Mary (Marists) in 1931 when the original St Patrick's College, Wellington (established 1885) was intended to be moved to a larger site more suited to a boarding school.
Taitā, New Zealand
Taitā is one of the easternmost suburbs of Lower Hutt City in New Zealand, situated toward the northern end of the city. It is considerably south of the Taita Gorge which separates Lower Hutt City from Upper Hutt City. Its urban development began around the middle of the 20th century as part of the Labour Government's State housing scheme. The main road through the western part of the suburb, Taita Drive, has its southern end in the suburb of Avalon near the Kennedy-Good Bridge.
Heretaunga
There are two places in New Zealand called Heretaunga. For the region in Hawke's Bay see Heretaunga Plains. Heretaunga is a suburb of Upper Hutt located in the lower North Island of New Zealand. The suburb takes its name from a Hawkes Bay district that early European settlers in the Hutt Valley used to name the nearby Hutt River. It is directly next to the suburb of Silverstream, and the two are commonly thought to be merged.
Royal Wellington Golf Club
The Royal Wellington Golf Club, (formerly Wellington Golf Club) founded in 1895, has one of New Zealand's most beautiful and historic golf courses. Situated at Heretaunga, Upper Hutt, just north of Wellington, the course is one of the best tests of golf in New Zealand. It has been a regular venue for New Zealand Open championships, and men's and women's national amateur championships. The club, which also has a nine-hole "inner" course, has a strong and active membership.

Kelson, New Zealand
Kelson is a northern suburb of Lower Hutt City situated at the bottom of the North Island of New Zealand. The suburb lies on the western side of the Hutt River and State Highway 2. "'Kelson'" was named after George Kells, the original owner of the land, and his son Bill who directed the subdivision, hence the name Kelson. Kelson School is a co-educational primary school catering for students up to year 6. It has a roll of 208 and a decile rating of 10. It was opened in 1979.
