Lake Wakatipu
Lake Wakatipu is an inland lake (finger lake) in the South Island of New Zealand. It is in the southwest corner of the Otago Region, near its boundary with Southland. Lake Wakatipu comes from the original Māori word Whakatipu wai-māori. With a length of 80 kilometres, it is New Zealand's longest lake, and, at 291 km, its third largest.
Coronet Peak
Coronet Peak is a commercial skifield in Otago, New Zealand located 18 kilometres to the northeast of the town of Queenstown and seven kilometres west of Arrowtown, on the southern slopes of the 1,649 metre peak which shares its name. A popular ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, Coronet Peak offers a long snow season, excellent skiing and snowboarding terrain and lift systems.

Lake Hayes
Lake Hayes is a small lake in the Wakatipu Basin in Central Otago, in New Zealand's South Island. It is located close to the towns of Arrowtown and Queenstown. The lake was originally known as Hays Lake after D. Hay, an Australian who came to the district looking for sheep country in 1859. Its name gradually changed to Lake Hayes, as its discovery was credited erroneously to Captain "Bully" Hayes, an early local character of the district.

The Duel II is the 17th season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge (though at the time, known as Real World/Road Rules Challenge). The season is directly subsequent to The Island. The Duel II is the sequel to the show's 13th season, The Duel, and succeeds The Island season. It took place in Queenstown, New Zealand, with former cast members from MTV's The Real World and Road Rules competing along with several cast members from the Fresh Meat challenge.

Skippers Canyon
Skippers Canyon is a historic and scenic gorge, some 22 kilometres in length, that is located several kilometres north of Queenstown. Today accessed from Queenstown via the same road that leads to Coronet Peak skifield, Skippers Canyon houses the Shotover River, one of New Zealand's richest gold bearing rivers which was named by William Gilbert Rees. Rees, his wife Francis and brother-in-law Nicholas von Tunzelmann were the first European settlers in and near where Queenstown is now located.

Walter Peak, New Zealand
Walter Peak is a mountain located near Queenstown, New Zealand. It has a height of 1,800 metres (5,905 feet). It is regularly visited by the TSS Earnslaw steamship which takes passengers to the base of the mountain to visit the Walter Peak High Country Farm. The Colonel's homestead close to the steamships destination is also popular and serves lunch and dinner.
Cecil Peak
Cecil Peak is a mountain in the Wakatipu Basin, New Zealand and reaches a height of 1,978 metres. It is on the south side of Lake Wakatipu, south south-west of Queenstown and is highly prominent from around this area. Vegetation is mainly grass and tussock (as it is under a pastoral lease) with trees near the waterline. Hidden Island is one of four islands in Lake Wakatipu and sits very close to the shoreline of Cecil Peak.

Some of the facilities in the Garden include Tennis, Lawn Bowls, Skating, Disc Golf and Ice Skating/Ice Hockey. There is a variety of trails in the garden with views of the surrounding mountains and of Lake Wakatipu and the Frankton Arm as well as Queenstown itself.

Fernhill has about 800 homes or units but also several hotels as well as an area of three shops. It joins on to the suburb of Sunshine Bay.

Hidden Island, New Zealand
Hidden Island is located in the middle of Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand and is very close to Cecil Peak. Its name is due to the fact that from many parts of Queenstown the island is invisible. A local kayak company has a trip that takes you to the island from Queenstown. In 2010 two kayakers died near Hidden Island.
