Port Chalmers
Port Chalmers is a suburb and the main port of the city of Dunedin, New Zealand, with a population of 3,000. Port Chalmers lies ten kilometres inside Otago Harbour, some 15 kilometres northeast from Dunedin's city centre. Much of Port Chalmers is located on a small hilly peninsula, at the northern end of which is a large reclaimed area which is now the site of Dunedin's container port.
Knox College, Otago
Knox College is a privately run residential college affiliated to the University of Otago in New Zealand, providing accommodation for primarily first and second year students, with a smaller number of postgraduates. The college is set in an 11 hectares landscaped site in Opoho on the opposite side of the Dunedin Botanic Gardens from the University. Quarantine Island/Kamau Taurua is the largest island in Otago Harbour, close to the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. The island covers an area of 15 hectares, and is mainly a publicly accessible recreation reserve. The major buildings on the island are listed with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and owned by the St Martin Island Community. The island served as the quarantine station for Otago from 1863 until 1924.

Mount Cargill
Mount Cargill, known in Māori as Kapukataumahaka, is a 676 metre high volcanic outcrop which dominates the skyline of northern Dunedin, New Zealand. It is situated some 15 kilometres north of the city centre. The peak is named for Captain William Cargill, an early leader of the Province of Otago. It is one of the youngest parts of the massive extinct Dunedin shield volcano and was formed some 10 million years ago.

Goat Island / Rakiriri is an island in Otago Harbour in Otago, in the southern South Island of New Zealand. It is located between Port Chalmers and Portobello, to the northeast of Dunedin's city centre. It has one of New Zealand's dual placenames. The Maori language portion Rakiriri means "Angry sky". The second-largest island in the harbour, Goat Island covers 4.5 hectares, and is located to the northwest of the larger Quarantine Island/Kamau Taurua.

Broad Bay, New Zealand
The settlement of Broad Bay is located on the Otago Harbour coast of Otago Peninsula, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is administered as part of the city of Dunedin, and is technically a suburb of that city, though its isolation and semi-rural nature make it appear as a settlement in its own right. Broad Bay is 13 kilometres to the east of the city centre, but due to the shape of the peninsula's coastline, the heart of the city cannot be seen from Broad Bay.

St Leonards is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located close to the northern shore of the Otago Harbour and on the hilly slopes above the harbour. St Leonards is 8.5 kilometres northeast of Dunedin's city centre, between the small settlement of Burkes and Sawyers Bay.
Sawyers Bay
Sawyers Bay is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located 3 kilometres to the southwest of Port Chalmers in a wide valley on the shore of Mussel Bay, 13 kilometres to the northeast of Dunedin city centre. The bay, an indentation in the northeast coast of Otago Harbour, lies between the two rocky headlands of Port Chalmers in the east and Roseneath in the west. The South Island Main Trunk rail line and State Highway 88 run along the shore of the bay.
Opoho
Opoho is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It sits on the western flank of Signal Hill, New Zealand, 3 kilometres to the northeast of the city centre, overlooking North East Valley and the Dunedin Botanic Gardens. Opoho is one of Dunedin's more prestigious residential suburbs however still has somewhat mixed demographics, containing student flats, significant numbers of elderly citizens, and the houses of many in the academic community.
Ravensbourne, New Zealand
Ravensbourne is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located on the steep southeastern slopes of Signal Hill above the Otago Harbour. It lies on the harbour's northern shore, 4.5 kilometres east-northeast of the city centre. Ravensbourne's 2001 population was 1,269. Rail and road links between central Dunedin and Port Chalmers run through Ravensbourne on the narrow strip of land between the hill slopes and harbour.
Roseneath, Otago
Roseneath is a small suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin, located on the northwestern shore of Otago Harbour, 12 kilometres to the northeast of Dunedin city centre. It is situated between Saint Leonards and Port Chalmers on a rocky promontory of the same name which juts 0.6 kilometres into the harbour between Sawyers Bay and Blanket Bay. The suburb and promontory are likely to have been named from the similar location of Rosneath in Scotland.
Company Bay
Company Bay is both a bay and a semi-rural suburb of Dunedin, New Zealand, located on the Otago Harbour (northernwestern) coast of Otago Peninsula between Macandrew Bay and Portobello. It is often considered one of Dunedin's exclusive and wealthier suburbs. Access to surrounding suburbs and the centre of the city is via Portobello Road, which skirts the edge of Otago Harbour.
Dunedin Northern Cemetery
The Dunedin Northern Cemetery is a major historic cemetery in the southern New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located close to Lovelock Avenue on a spur of Signal Hill close to the Dunedin Botanic Gardens and the suburb of Opoho, overlooking Dunedin North and Logan Park. The 8-hectare site was set aside in 1872, with the last plot being purchased in 1937. The cemetery forms part of Dunedin's Town belt, a green belt surrounding the inner city.

It is located on the ridge which runs along the centre of the peninsula, 8 kilometres from Dunedin city centre, at a junction between Highcliff Road, which runs along the peninsula's ridge, and Castlewood Road, which descends to Company Bay on the shore of the Otago Harbour.
Bethune's Gully
Bethune's Gully is notable geological feature of northern Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located close to the suburb of Normanby towards the northern end of North East Valley. It preserves a number of acres of very old-growth forest and a large stand of exotic Douglas fir, and is an ecosystem directly below the cloud forest on the upper slopes of Mount Cargill.

State Highway 88 is a New Zealand State Highway connecting the city centre of Dunedin with Port Chalmers, which is the location of Dunedin's main port facilities and home of one of New Zealand's major container terminals. It is roughly 12 km long.
