Otago Harbour
Otago Harbour is the natural harbour of Dunedin, New Zealand, consisting of a long, much-indented stretch of generally navigable water separating the Otago Peninsula from the mainland. They join at its southwest end, 21 km from the harbour mouth. It is home to Dunedins deep water port facilities on its western shores in the suburb of Port Chalmers.
Port Chalmers
Port Chalmers is a suburb and the main port of the city of Dunedin, New Zealand, with a population of 3,000. Port Chalmers lies ten kilometres inside Otago Harbour, some 15 kilometres northeast from Dunedin's city centre. Much of Port Chalmers is located on a small hilly peninsula, at the northern end of which is a large reclaimed area which is now the site of Dunedin's container port.
Quarantine Island / Kamau Taurua
Quarantine Island/Kamau Taurua is the largest island in Otago Harbour, close to the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. The island covers an area of 15 hectares, and is mainly a publicly accessible recreation reserve. The major buildings on the island are listed with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and owned by the St Martin Island Community. The island served as the quarantine station for Otago from 1863 until 1924.
Portobello Marine Laboratory
The Portobello Marine Laboratory is located on the end of a short peninsula close to the township of Portobello, within the limits of the city of Dunedin in New Zealand's South Island. It is run as part of the University of Otago, the main campus of which is 23 kilometres to the southwest in Dunedin's main urban area. The laboratory is New Zealand and Oceania's oldest established marine research facility and was opened on 13 January 1904. Originally proposed by leading naturalist G.M.

Holy Trinity Church is an Anglican church in Port Chalmers, New Zealand. The church building is constructed in volcanic stone and has some fine stained glass, and is listed as a Category I Historic Place. With St Barnabas Church, Warrington, Holy Trinity Church is part of the Port Chalmers-Warrington Parish of the Anglican Diocese of Dunedin, New Zealand.
Goat Island / Rakiriri
Goat Island / Rakiriri is an island in Otago Harbour in Otago, in the southern South Island of New Zealand. It is located between Port Chalmers and Portobello, to the northeast of Dunedin's city centre. It has one of New Zealand's dual placenames. The Maori language portion Rakiriri means "Angry sky". The second-largest island in the harbour, Goat Island covers 4.5 hectares, and is located to the northwest of the larger Quarantine Island/Kamau Taurua.
Sawyers Bay
Sawyers Bay is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located 3 kilometres to the southwest of Port Chalmers in a wide valley on the shore of Mussel Bay, 13 kilometres to the northeast of Dunedin city centre. The bay, an indentation in the northeast coast of Otago Harbour, lies between the two rocky headlands of Port Chalmers in the east and Roseneath in the west. The South Island Main Trunk rail line and State Highway 88 run along the shore of the bay.
Roseneath, Otago
Roseneath is a small suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin, located on the northwestern shore of Otago Harbour, 12 kilometres to the northeast of Dunedin city centre. It is situated between Saint Leonards and Port Chalmers on a rocky promontory of the same name which juts 0.6 kilometres into the harbour between Sawyers Bay and Blanket Bay. The suburb and promontory are likely to have been named from the similar location of Rosneath in Scotland.
