Poverty Bay
Poverty Bay is the largest of several small bays on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island to the north of Hawkes Bay. It stretches for 10 kilometres from Young Nick's Head in the southwest to Tuaheni Point in the northeast. The city of Gisborne is located on the northern shore of the bay. The name is often used by extension to refer to the entire area surrounding the city of Gisborne.

Titirangi (hill)
Titirangi is a hill in Gisborne city, New Zealand. It is also known as Kaiti Hill, but this refers to the first ridge overlooking Poverty Bay and Gisborne. The hill is an ancestral site of the Ngati Oneone hapū (sub-tribe) in Gisborne. It is at the base of this hill that Captain James Cook came ashore, after first sighting New Zealand in October 1769.
2ZG
2ZG was a radio station in Gisborne originally owned by the Radio New Zealand commercial operation. The station was first started as 2XG in 1948 broadcasting on 1010AM. In the 1960s the call sign and brand name were changed to 2ZG and the station moved to 1060AM. In 1978 after New Zealand changed its AM frequency spacing from 10 kHz to 9 kHz 2ZG moved to 945AM. 2ZG was known as The Coaster during the 1980s and in the 1990s as Gisbornes 2ZG.

Gisborne Botanical Gardens is a public garden in Gisborne, New Zealand, that dates back to 1874. The Gisborne Botanical Gardens nowadays occupy 5.1 hectares between Aberdeen Road and the Taruheru River. There are still many trees remaining from the early period. Waipaoa River River Country New Zealand Source Raukumara Range Basin 2,150 km (830 sq mi) The Waipaoa River is a river of the northeast of New Zealand's North Island. It rises on the eastern slopes of the Raukumara Range, flowing south for 80 kilometres to reach Poverty Bay and the Pacific Ocean just south of Gisborne. For about half of this distance its valley is followed by State Highway 2.
Kaiti, New Zealand
Kaiti is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne. It is located immediately to the east of the city centre, on the opposing bank of the Waimata River. Kaiti Hill or Titirangi overlooks Poverty Bay with Young Nick's Head (Te Kuri O Paoa) across the Bay. Titirangi also overlooks the city. The Turanganui River is below it, and separates Kaiti from the Gisborne Central Business District. Nearby Kaiti Beach is one of New Zealand's most historic spots, being the landing site of the Horouta waka.

Awapuni is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne, and is located in the southwest of the city. It is named after the Awapuni lagoon, where the Waipaoa River runs into the ocean.
Mangapapa
Mangapapa is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne. It is located in the north of the city. Whataupoko lies to the southeast and Te Hapara to the south, separated from Mangapapa by the Turanganui River. Gisborne Hospital is located in Mangapapa, as was the former Cook Hospital. In 2006, the New Zealand Census calculated the total population of the Mangapapa suburb to be 4,263.

Manutuke is a settlement in the Gisborne Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located to the west of the city of Gisborne on State Highway 2, close to the mouth of the Waipaoa River.
Wainui Beach
Wainui Beach is a small settlement on the coast of New Zealand's North Island, located just to the north of Tuaheni Point, some 8 km to the east of Gisborne, to which it is linked by State Highway 35. As of the 2006 census, Wainui Beach had a usually resident population of 1,515. The beach is one of the NZ Automobile Association's 101 Must-do places for Kiwis. It is noted for its consistent surf breaks.
Whangara
Whangara is a small community in the northeast of New Zealand's North Island. Located between Gisborne and Tolaga Bay, five kilometres southwest of Gable End Foreland and 2 km east of State Highway 35, it features prominently in the early history of the Ngāti Porou iwi. Whangara was the location and setting for the successful New Zealand novel and film Whale Rider.
Campion College, Gisborne
Campion College, Gisborne is an integrated, co-educational college located in Gisborne, New Zealand including students from Year 7 to Year 13. The college received its name from its patron saint, St Edmund Campion whose feast day is 1 December. Students have the opportunity to study Religious Education as part of NCEA levels 1-3.
James Cook Observatory

It flows predominantly southeast from sources close to the settlement of Ormond before flowing through the city of Gisborne. Here it meets the waters of the Waimata River, and the combined waters flow to the northern end of Poverty Bay as the Turanganui River.
Te Arai River
The Te Arai River is a river of the Gisborne Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows generally north from its origins in rough hill country 20 kilometres north of Nuhaka before veering northeast past the township of Manutuke to reach the Waipaoa River five kilometres from the latter's outflow into Poverty Bay.
Waiomoko River
The Waiomoko River is a river of the Gisborne Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows southeast to reach the Pacific Ocean 22 kilometres northeast of the city of Gisborne.
Lytton High School
Lytton High School is the only co-educational state Secondary School in Gisborne, New Zealand. The school was opened in February 1961 with 159 students. In January 2011 the school celebrated its 50th jubilee with an estimated roll of 810 students. Wiremu Elliott was appointed as Principal in July 2012. Harry Barker Reserve
Harry Barker Reserve is a cricket ground in Te Hapara, Gisborne, New Zealand which is named after the former mayor of Gisborne. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1948 when Poverty Bay played Hawkes Bay in the 1948/49 Hawke Cup. The local council purchased the ground in 1962, prior to which it formed part of a nine-hole golf course. The ground held its first first-class match Northern Districts played Otago in the 1974/75 Plunket Shield.
