Dutch Republic
The Dutch Republic—officially known as the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden), the Republic of the United Netherlands, or the Republic of the Seven United Provinces (Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Provinciën)—was a republic in Europe existing from 1581 to 1795, preceding the Batavian Republic, the United Kingdom of the Netherlands and ultimately the modern Kingdom of the Netherlands.
House of Representatives (Netherlands)
The House of Representatives is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States-General, the other one being the Senate of the Netherlands. It has 150 seats which are filled through elections using a party-list proportional representation. It sits in The Hague.
De Blauwe Aanslag
De Blauwe Aanslag was a squat in the Dutch city of The Hague. The property was a former tax office which was squatted in 1980. The name refers the blue papers which a person must fill in every year as a tax return. When the local council took over the ownership of the building, it was agreed to renovate it in three stages, with the squatters living there.
Binnenhof
The Binnenhof (inner court), is a complex of buildings in The Hague. It has been the location of meetings of the Staten-Generaal, the Dutch parliament, since 1446, and has been the centre of Dutch politics for many centuries. The grounds on which the Binnenhof now stands were purchased by Count Floris IV of Holland in 1229, where he built his mansion, next to the little lake that has been called Hofvijver or 'Court Pond' since the 13th century.
Noordeinde Palace
Noordeinde Palace is one of the three official palaces of the Dutch royal family. Located in The Hague in the province of South Holland, it has been used as the "working palace" for Queen Beatrix since 1984.
Zuiderpark Stadion
Zuiderparkstadion was an 11,000-seat stadium in The Hague, in the Netherlands. It was the home of football club ADO Den Haag. For many years after the club's inauguration in 1905, they played football in many different temporary venues, eventually settling in the 'Zuiderpark' in 1925. The stadium was temporarily abandoned on 21 February 1945, near the end of World War II. The War left the club lacking funds with which to maintain the ground.

The Hague University
The Hague University of Applied Sciences (Dutch: De Haagse Hogeschool) is a vocational university in The Hague, Netherlands. It was founded in 1987 as the merger of 14 educational institutions. Since, the university has increased the number of campuses, number of staff and students, and programmes offered. In 2010, there were approximately 21,300 students studying in the university in different types of programmes offered both in Dutch and English.
Kneuterdijk Palace
Kneuterdijk Palace, located in the Hague, was once a Royal Palace of the Kings of the Netherlands. Built in 1716 in the Louis XIV style, by architect Daniel Marot, it was first home to the Count of Wassenaar-Obdam. The palace served as a residence for King William II and his wife princess Anna Paulowna of Russia in the first half of the 19th century, when he was still the crown prince. Their grandson crown prince William used the palace from 1858 till his death in 1879.
Kloosterkerk, The Hague
The Kloosterkerk (or Cloister Church) is a church on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague, Netherlands. The church and its accompanying monastery were first built in 1397. The church is known today as the church where Queen Beatrix occasionally attends services.
Hofvijver
The Hofvijver [ˈhɔfɛivər ˈhɔfɛivər] is a small pond in the centre of The Hague. It is adjoined in the east by the Korte Vijverberg (road), in the south by the Binnenhof and the Mauritshuis, in the west by the Buitenhof and in the north by the Lange Vijverberg (road). In the middle there is a small island with plants and trees which has no name, it is usually referred to as "the island in the Vijverberg".
Museum Bredius
Museum Bredius is a museum named after Abraham Bredius on the Lange Vijverberg in The Hague. It is remarkable for its collection of etchings and paintings, but is most attractive to visitors for its accurate restoration of the 18th-century Herenhuis interior with period furnishings.
Paard van Troje
Paard van Troje is a venue in The Hague, Netherlands founded in 1972 with the support of the alderman of culture from The Hague. Currently located at the Prinsegracht.
Artiestenhof
Artiestenhof is a hofje in the Trompstraat in the Dutch city of The Hague. It is a side street by the Piet Hein. Around 1850, the older part of the Trompstraat had five courtyards and many businesses. The street was christened in 1872 by Sophie of the Netherlands, who was the owner of the land. The Trompstraat was extended around 1875 with higher-end properties.
Pulchri Studio
Pulchri Studio is an important art institution and art studio based in The Hague, Netherlands. It began in 1847 at the home of painter Lambertus Hardenberg, established with the help of Johan Hendrik Weissenbruch, Jan Weissenbruch, Willem Roelofs, Jan Frederik van Deventer, Willem Antonie van Deventer, Jacob Jan van der Maaten and F.H. Michael. Bart van Hove became the first president.
Nieuwe Kerk (The Hague)
The Nieuwe Kerk (is a church in The Hague, located across from the modern city hall on the Spui. It was built in 1649 after the Great Church had become too small. Construction was completed in 1656.

The Nobelhuis is a house located in the Nobelstraat in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is believed to be the oldest residential house in The Hague.
Old City Hall (The Hague)
The Old City Hall in The Hague is a Renaissance style building on the Groenmarkt near the Grote Kerk. It is the former seat of the city's government, and still today the place where residents hold their civic wedding ceremonies, and where the Royal family register their family births. Less noble families do this at the current city hall located in the large white building on the Kalvermarkt, near the Public library.
Grote of Sint-Jacobskerk (The Hague)
Grote of Sint-Jacobskerk (Great, or St. James Church) is a landmark Protestant church in The Hague, Netherlands. The building is located on the Torenstraat, named for its high tower. Together with the Binnenhof, it is one of the oldest buildings in the Hague. Members of the House of Orange-Nassau have been baptised there. The latest are Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange and his daughter Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands.

Queens Garden (restaurant)
Oueens Garden is the restaurant of Parkhotel Den Haag located in The Hague in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1960-1971. The restaurant lost its star in 1972, after the restaurant changed course. Nowadays restaurant "Garden Room" serves the hotel. In 1964, Henri Frisch, owner of 't Koetshuis in Rhenen, was director of the hotel and restaurant. The building is located beside Noordeinde Palace.
Adrianus Jacobus Zuyderland (Van Gogh series)
Adrianus Jacobus Zuyderland was Vincent van Gogh's favorite model during his Hague period. He appears in dozens of drawings, easily identified by his bald head and prominent white whiskers, and he was the model for van Gogh's iconic painting At Eternity's Gate.
Corona (restaurant)
Restaurant Les Saison, part of Hotel Corona, was a restaurant located in The Hague, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1988-1992. In the time of the Michelin stars, head chef was Robert Kranenborg. Hotel Corona is located in three 17th century buildings, within sight of the Dutch parlementary buildings. It reopened after an extensive renovation in January 2012. Restaurant Les Saison closed down in 1992.
Torentje
The Torentje (Dutch literally "The Little Tower"), is located at the Binnenhof in The Hague next to the Mauritshuis museum, is the official office of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands since 1982.
The Hague City Hall
The Hague City Hall is the city hall of The Hague, Netherlands. It was designed in 1986 by American architect Richard Meier and completed in 1995. It is located in the new city centre, and incorporates the council chamber, the main public library, as well as cafés, exhibition spaces, and a wedding room. At its centre is a large atrium, flanked by two large slab buildings 10- and 12-storey tall. The library is located at the northwestern end of the building complex in a semicircular building.
